Alright ATV gurus:D need some opinions on a new ATV purchase. I've been looking for a mth or so at new atv's and I'm seriously leaning towards an Arctic Cat 650. I've looked at the brute force, grizzly, sportsman and king quad and out of all of those I like the Cat. What are ya'lls take on the Cat? I know alot of ya'll hit aetna, windrock, etc so what do you see do the best and what is everyone riding?

Reasons I like the Cat- 12in ground clearance, independent rear susp, 2yr warranty-free and they have a good financing program going on right now.

I really like the Polaris also but it is quite a bit more expensive. I also like the Brute force too but again these 2 are more than the 650 Cat.

Opinions please!!!!

The only issue Ive seen with the Cats and the Polaris is that they dont have the reliability that the big 4 Jap quads have. As far as playing in the mud and things like that go, I dont know but I have seen a lot of them out and about here lately.

The last trip I made to Windrock, one of the fellers was riding a Cat, a 500 and I was impressed with it's abilty to handle all challanges, mud, hills and climbing over rocks. I will say this, I was able to go justa about every where he went useing his 4 wheel drive and mine being a two wheel drive. The thing I noticed the most was the ride it had, not jerky or anything like that, pretty smooth. Be a good choice I think, but I prefer Honda. Heres a pic of the 500. Great ground clearance.

well fellas i purchased the 650:D in red. I had them add a 3000lb warn winch, 26in maxxis big horn tires, hand guards, front brush guard and rear bumper....got all that for a great price and 2yr warranty. I'll be in the woods soon, maybe have to call into work tomorrow and use a "sick" day:D...I bought it at Hales in Rossville, great folks and recommend them to anyone, it was a pleasure doing business with them. You just couldn't beat the price they gave me especially with all the extras. I know I've checked around for a mth or so now and the price on the Cat was far better than the Polaris or the Jap brands. I'll post pics when I get home tonight with it.

Thanks fellas, I think I'll enjoy it too. I've only got to ride it a little bit so far but I plan to put some miles on it this weekend.:D I've realized with the little I've rode it that's it going to take some getting use to. This is the biggest atv I've ever owned, lol....My last one was a little ole 350 Bruin and a Warrior before that, so, needless to say this is a different beast. I have 5 acres of land thats mostly wooded and is joined by some pretty steep ridges and also has a creek going through it. So gonna get the feel of this big atv and then try out places like Windrock and Aetna.
