Ok, 72 ford 302- 8.5-1 comp ratio, as I recall. I'm planning on adding ford racing or AFR heads. Heres the question, can I not get heads and kick up the comp ratio at the same time? I'm pretty shure you can. But what would I need to get? Smaller chambers?- and at what comp ratio should you kick up the octane level of your gas?

you would have to have small chambers to make much difference . i don't think you'll get more than about 9to1 or maybe 9.5 to 1 . which you can use 93 octane .
ps you could also have the heads shaved to to raise the compresion .

Be hard to raise compression greatly with dish pistons!

well if you order afr they come in a 58cc combustion chamber head that would work great you could also take them to a machine shop and have about .030 taken off of them it just depends on what you want also with an alumium head you can run a higher compression ratio before having to run race fuel. If you need help just leave me a message at yahoo on my email it is fleedog02@yahoo.com and I will gladly help you in any way I can.
