I'm wondering where a good place to learn about painting cars and doing body work is. Is there any where online, or any good books? I'm probably looking to paint a car here soon, nothing fancy, but something to improve how it looks now.

I'm looking to learn stuff like prepping body for paint, what grit sandpaper to use, what supplies to use, etc.

Also, where is the best place around here to buy supplies and stuff like that?

Google it. I use PPG paints, and 3m products.Autobody stores probabally have books for sale and would probabally offer advice. Try car colors plus in halls.

EDIT: Also Sharpe makes some of the best paintguns out there.

Do you know anyone that does or has done auto body before? Books can't teach you how to do it they just tell you how to do it right. It's best to just do small work (i.e. practice on parts your not going to use anymore like a hood or a fender or something thats what I did) Checkout my car http://www.myspace.com/turbodcoupe... Usually I get my stuff from NAPA on magnolia they can get you almost everything you need.
