So, I didn't really notice it when I first bought the truck, because I was pretty used to the loudness of the Subaru, but now I'm starting to notice it more. There is a strange "whirring" sound when I'm in neutral, it may do it while I'm in gear and driving, but with other road noises I am uncertain. In the video the sound is there to begin with and the car is in neutral. When the sound goes away I am pushing the clutch in, I do this a couple of times.

That's what they were saying over on CustomTacos.com too. Anybody know any good transmission shops that could do it for a reasonable price?

Neutral is for sissies. And if its the clutch you might as well drive it until it starts slipping. Its a truck, the clutch can't be that hard to do. I'll get some beers and help you out if you want.

Edit: You buy the beers. That makes a lot more sense than what I said.

Jbravo,

You can search auto parts store online they have a reliable and discount auto parts. Since you are a Toyota owner you can read some Toyota topics like Toyota Lover (http://automotiveworld.iblog.com/), you can get here some car tips and learn car repairs.

i think they have a recall going around on tacoma's....because of possible rust and the chassis, enough to where toyota will buy it back for the price the vehicle would be in "excellent retail" condition....hope this applies to you then you can get a new truck!

My brother is a service manager at Toyota of Cedar Rapids in Iowa and he was telling me about this too. It's really only for the older models I'm pretty sure. But he said a guy came in with a Tacoma my brother almost bought from him a year earlier for $1600, and when he called Toyota to ask how much they are supposed to buy the truck back for, they told him to give the guy somewhere around $7000!!!! I thought that was pretty fucking crazy!! My brother was a little disappointed he didn't buy the truck when he had the chance.
