Macon National Dragway is hosting a street car race Saturday. No cage, no mini-tubs, stock suspension only, DOT tires only, tag and insurance.

$50 to enter

I'm sure that all depends on the turnout. Hell, bring anything you have...to get in it is not much more pricey than T-N-T. I'm sure that if they get 10-12 cars or more, they'll probably have it again.

I'm still debating on going to AMS. Nitrous gets expensive when you go to 2-3 tracks in one weekend...as I've actually considered going to Phenix City on Sunday too:D

75 to 16 (in Macon), then take 16 to exit 24 or 27. If you take exit 24, you'll be turning right onto Hwy 96. Take that a mile or two until you get to Hwy 358. Turn left onto 358 and the track will be about a mile or so on the right.

If you take exit 27, then turn right onto 358 and take that about 2 miles and the track is on the left.

You turn onto the access road to the track and think "Damn, what kind of shit-hole are we going to"? Then, just when you think that you should be turning around for going down the wrong road...you'll turn right and racing gods will open up and say, "wwwwwwaaaaahhhhh, home sweet home":D

I know how to get there silly.... LOL.... I want to get exclusive access so I can take photos from wherever I want (so when I go crawling over by the wall I don't get flack)...hell I will even bring all my gear and if anyone wants special photos we could set that up (fo' a lil fee)....there's a really good spot at the back of the parking area I thought would be great for that sort of thing depending on how many folks show up.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the gates open at 1:00, but the street car race doesn't start until 5:00, but that's if I remember correctly from the flyer.

duramax read a flyer to me yesterday on the phone and it didn't say anything about a cage it only said no coil overs no mini tub and no tire bigger that 28-10.5 tagged and ins.
so I'm going to call them today and find out!

You can run any DOT tire in the street car race

oh why does the cage matter I got a street car not as fast as yours runs on pump gas can drive it any where but it has a cage! it's still a street car ins. tag and all! just don't under stand how a cage will give an advantage?

It's not that the cage gives an advantage(although they do through structural rigidity), it's their way of hopefully keeping all out racecars on a dot tire from entering the race. It's to promote more street oriented cars. I understand that streetcars can have cages too, but that's just the rule for this race.
