Harley, I haven't stopped by because frankly, I'm at a loss for words. I was already upset and I didn't want to make you any more upset than you already are. I know you already know this and have heard it many times already but if you need anything, and I mean anything, you let me know and I will do everything in my power to help out. Your dad was one of the best people I have ever met and would give any one of his friends the shirt off his back if they needed it. Just a great person all around and a good friend to everyone. Be sure to let us know what the arrangements will be. We love you man!
Tom
You and your family are in my prayers. Keep us informed on the arrangements. I'll be up that way this weekend.

Butch, I am really sad to hear this news.... your Dad is a great man. I've met a lot of folks in my years, but somehow your dad was the only one that always made me feel like a little kid when I stood next to him. What a giant of a man with a great heart & soul..... I'm going to miss him.
Your whole family is my prayers.

I can't begin to thank you guys for all of your thoughts, prayers, and kind words about my dad. It truly means the world to me to know that you all cared about him as much as you did. We really lost a mountain of a man today. He was my dad, my best friend, and my hero. He lived a great life albeit too short and he loved every second of it. He did what he loved doing day in and day out up until the very last second. I'm sure gonna miss him...

I just want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to each and every one of you guys for your support during the most difficult time in my life. It really means more to me than you will ever know to see how much you cared about my dad and how much you care about me. He was my mentor, my best friend, my inspiration, and my hero, but most of all, he was my Daddy. There were just no limits to what he was willing to sacrifice and do just to make sure that I was happy and had everything that I needed and wanted. I knew that I had something special in that mountain of a man, but not until now did I have any clue just how special he really was. There just aren't words to describe him. He was a friend to everyone and he spent every single day of his life trying to make sure everybody was happy. He did a great job. I couldn't be happier or more proud of the man that I got to call Daddy.........Harley Edward Chapman Sr., SCEMTP

We are here for you now and will be in the following days. Its nice to have this close group of friends especially in a time of need. see ya in a little while. Chuck

I tell you... Gwen & I didn't make the graveside service, but we rolled out with the rest of the procession down Hwy 11. The line of ambulances, fire trucks & everyone else pretty well stretched all the way from the burial gardens back to Davenport.... What a sight to behold.....

Most honorable funeral I've ever been to.
For sure, by all the EMS, Fire Dept. Rescue Squad, etc. etc. You could tell he is a well respected man. Anyone who knew him would be proud to carry his name, you get to.

I have been trying all day to come up with something to say about that last call....
I can't come up with one single thing. All I have is tears....
I decided not to have Taps played at daddy's funeral....I just couldn't take it.
I believe that "last call" is the most precious thing I've ever heard.
Prayers sent Harley....that's all I know to say. :(
