1 sub is fine for most situations. The best thing to do though is get a quality sub. There are many great companies that make good products.

A good sub in the 10" range with give you enough bass to sound great. A good quality sub will run around $100-$150.

As far as the 6x9's, I don't recommend any 6xp speaker unless it is an Alpine 2 way.

Get a nice 6.5" 2 way or seperates if possible. Again, a nice pair will run about $100

Amps, don't always think that if an amp says its 10,000 watts it is. The rating system has gotten better but stil not very accurate.

A good lower priced amp is the HiFonics line, Infinity line, MA Audio and some Audiobahn stuff.

Should be able to find something in $100 range.

At the budget your working with I hope you already have a headunit.

Hope this helps some, but here are so many options out there, that the perfect system for a budget is almost impossible to describe online.

1 sub will do just fine. I have one sub and 1 1000 watt amp and it sounds better than alot of 2 sub systems

like previously said....need to know what kind of head unit...what kind of listening....do you have no amps? have a nice Xtant that can power your seps and a sub nicely. but for real.....also what is it going into and where would the sub be placed?
