Dart, Its funny how people will poke fun, I have seen in some of your posts though when you made fun of others port work and engine work. So you gotta take what you get sometimes. But the whole time I was building my car several on this site were making fun of it, funny thing is...Who's laughing now....One thing is for sure, when your car is done they will either shut up and go away or they will rag your ass.. Good luck car is looking good.

i just think its funny how i know i dont have a show car. i dont want a show car. i would like to swap over to a 1 wire alt. and get rid of the voltage regulater and some more of the useless wiring under hood. get the car painted and have a real nice roll cage installed.
the bigger pic here is when it runs as fast as i say it will and its just an old race car nothing special...the bigger catch is that i possibly could run this thing some on pump gas some.. prob not spray it . but still.
the other thing is is that i dont have much money in this at all.youll see. wait till i get it all done. itll be bad... thanks for the compliment.

I will tell you 100% for sure, cars like yours are probably the most fun you can have with a car. I am going to build another budget car in the near future, something I can drive around and race too, dont get me wrong I love my car, but its a pain in the ass to race on a week to week level. It takes an act of congress to load up and at least 3 people to help with it, and a ton of work at the track and through the week. I love the outlaw style racing and will continue to try. But I do want something else to play with thats not a 3 ring circus to go race with..lol.
But my Camaro is my prime focus right now.

i saw on the outlaw board where tberry had his car up for sale cause he was talking about not having no time for nothing but the car. it seems like the guys that have the chase for speed and they catch it changee there mind from the ware of the everyday commitment that comes along with it. it would be boring if everyone had a mid to high 6 sec car but thats where we all have the most fun it seems. must be nice to have to or 3 is all i can say!

yaa but i think its too easy(hopefully my high 5 sec predicted times will help my argument) to go 5s with 400 inches under 12 to 1 compression, about any 230 plus cc head , 200 shot nos tops, a "sound chassis" , and 10 inch tires. if you have any clue about "tuning" y , and make the "right parts choices" i think this combo could make enough power to go 5.6s all day long in a 2900 lbs car. as long as the car works good... that shit will live from season to season only change valve springs when they loose x amount of pressure and hammer down.... thats what i want to do ...

what about with a lil more head and about the same compression more camshaft more nitrous and so on in a good sound car :rockon:

408 , 11.8-12.2, 250 cc plus runner,(id might try to find a set of "cup pull off yates heads"),(headers will be a grand ,but who cares). you can get those heads reasonable.
shaft mount rockers on inline heads, titanium valves, or titanium intakes which will be 7mm or 6mm stem
and 5/16 stem stainless exhaust valves. ( using the stainless exhaust can help if your on a budget.) its not as critical on the exhaust valve on weight because its smaller and lighter naturally. so the int valve is more prone to float. put a good valve train on it and go. not have a fortune in the engine and go 5.4s ( with no doubt) on a big shot and timing contoller or progressive, which ever u choose... 2900 lbs or less.(better hope yuo got a good car though) .
BUT HERE AGAIN IM NO CHASSIS GUY BUY ANY MEANS. I JUST BUILD THE ENGINES.
better go to a good chassis guy to get that power down the track... im think ill get cpc to do my chassis work... seems there lil 360 inch , just under 3000 lb car goes real damn fast...
p.s. .. oh yaaa did i say cpc's car went 4s with a .540 lift hyd. roller.my bad i didnt think i did...

the only prob with a big port like that and the camshaft it takes to make that power , the intake port velocity will be slow at lower engine speeds. this makes for a lazy ass engine until it see's rpm. you got to get the piston speed up to signal the port. with 11.8 - 12.2 that might need to be more like 13.2 min.... but just dont over cam the lower comp. engine and itlll run good. even if you under cam the low comp. engine itll run just as good if not better, just because you knock area out of the lift curve , creating intake port velocity at lower engine speeds....
but hell just spray it harderr,,,,,,./....lollolololo

i like the idea of an LSX powered mustang myself, i am by no means name brand loyal but the mustangs do work better than alot of cars out there with all the parts offered for them and the lsx chevy engines make a ton of power without alot of money, a turbo lsx in a fox body that works good might raise some eyebrows but who knows
