Tree Sap problem

I don't know if this has been posted before. But my cousin borrowed my car and when he returned it, I found tree sap on it. It's hardened a bit and I haven't began trying to take it off because I don't want to damage my paint. Any recommendations?

Try to paint over the part with the sap … hehehe just kidding man :)
