Well after a little bit of dickering with the old man, I stole this from him. Its a 66 Fairlane 390 GT. It now has a 302 with a C4 but he gave me the 390 and tranny with the purchase. It needs a little work but nothing major. It runs, drives, and the body is straight. Just needs a few bezels here and there and a paint job.

Yeah, might have to trade em in on some steelys and the redneck I bought it from fabbed up some kind of front bumper/spoiler that is ummm....pretty sexy to say the least....luckly he gave me the stock bumpers that I can bolt back on.

True dat....the FE wont go anywhere near it. I have a friend with a 66 GT 4spd that is buying it from me. The SBF will eventually be replaced with the BBF sitting in the shed.:nice:

 I'm sorry but a SBF is just as boring as a SBC. I look at them and yawn. If I'm not mistaken...one of the worlds most coveted performance cars is FE powered. Next you'll be telling me is that Flatheads can't make power either.
oh yeah...:D:D

"Most Coveted"... maybe in your "trapped in the 50-60's" mind...
There is a reason they don't make flathead engines anymore-they are pretty much the most non-efficient engine designs ever thought up!!!
ANY and I mean ANY OHV motor with the same CI/STROKE/CAMSHAFT/COMPRESSION RATIO will "WALK THE FUCKING DOG" on a flathead... Its not debatable-it is what it is...
Seriously 3 main journals... C'mon man...
Oh I almost forgot :D

Lemme start from the beginning there................................kid
You don't consider a 1965-66 Shelby Cobra 427 one of the Worlds Baddest Performance cars? only 350 TOTAL made and valued up to around $375-$400K. I could say that would make it kinda "coveted" in anyone's open mind. I wouldn't dis on the Flathead too much. Yeah I know it's over 75 years old. There is NO other engine that sounds like it but it is the FIRST V8 so cut it some slack on the design. You can still get over 650HP out of one of them. I mean you'd have to throw $50K at it with e blower and Nitro....but you can get around 650 with it! No one else but Ford had a V8 engine until 1949. Cadillac came out with there's then. Chevrolet didn't even have a V8 until '54. Chevrolet was 22 YEARS behind in V8's. I wouldn't say my mind it "trapped". I just prefer to open it up.
You know I can't forget :D

OH yeah....and BTW Sammy. How dare you call my mind Trapped in the 50's-60's when your precious lil 302 motors were designed in 1962 starting with the 260 mota. Face it...you're trapped back here with me :D:D:D bwaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa

Very nice. Buddy of mine back in the Navy days had a '67 Fairlane with a 351W/auto. Car ran pretty dang good for what it was.
Wish I had kept the Fairlane I had back in high school....'64 Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe....289/auto with center console, bucket seats, factory a/c. One of these days I will have another '64.....will turn it into a nice restomod.
