View Full Version : HELP!!! FUEL PRESSURE PROBLEM!!!!
Ok, I'm trying to get my shit ready for DFT and BUGDAY but...................... This fuckin' thing is driving me crazy! Since the car has been completed I have yet to lay into this bitch because of this.
Instead of fuel pressure rising as the engine revs, it drops. I have replaced the pump, regulator, filter, and tank. I have flushed the lines and checked voltage and yet it still drops pressure.
When the car is running and in park it drops about 8-10 pounds of pressure when you rev it to about 3,000 RPM's. When you rev it with the vacuum off, it will hold base pressure without droping. I can tell you that at idle it is only pulling about 7-8 inches of vacuum but still................you would think that as the engine revs, you lose vacuum and the diaphram should seat down on the return line which should raise pressure. RIGHT???????????????????
I'm really to the point where I'm fed up with this fuckin' shit. So if Coupe or anyone else could offer up a solution I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks guys.

Hmmm, you've replaced everything.....
How about T'ing a vacuum gauge on the line you have ran to the regulator and see what is happening there.

Where does the vacuum line from the regulator run to?
To a tree on the firewall. Which is fed by the line coming from the intake. Which probably explains the low vacuum at the regulator but shouldnt it still drop at the regulator anyway when you rev the engine? Hell I dont know.

What size lines are on the car?
Feed and return?

As long as it doesn't drop fuel pressure when I tune it, I don't give a shit what it does at idle.
Put a fuel pressure gauge on it that you can see when your driving. Go out an hit it one time in 2nd gear, just make sure the fuel pressure goes up relative to boost. If it doesn't there is a voltage supply issue to the pump.

Gotta love fuel pressure issue. It is by far the most common issue I have to diagnose before tuning a car.
I'm just trying to figure out if the problem is solved before I bring it back to you. I cant afford to waste any more money and I'm sure you dont want to waste any more of your time on it. Hooker

Just call me Tuesday morning around 9am and we will go over it then.
Hooker!? The only hooker is your car, it keeps screwing you out of your money:yup:

he already has excuses for that
Its just that he finally realized that he built a turd
:D:D
At this point, I would love to take an ass beating just as long as I can race it.

8 AN feed 6 AN return
What kind of pump do you have? Maybe you don't have enough pump to fill a -8 line under demand.

He has a pro series pump....if anything, too much pump.
JD...I'd run a dedicated cacuum line from the regulator to the intake. Do you have your blow off valve going to the same tee?

and if that doesnt work, run a dedicated "vacuum" line...sorry JOE:)
