My laptop crashed Thursday so I went and got a new Toshiba but it has Vista [hate it so far] and my HP picture program is not compatible. I am just looking for a simple program that will resize pics as well as cropping and maybe a little enhancement. The computer has a pic program now that does everything but resizing but would prefer to have it all in one. Suggestions?

I like Irfanview, free easy and works with many formats and has many plugins available. http://www.irfanview.com

Have any of you used these with Vista home basic? Some of the progams we looked at today were Vista compatible but not with the home basic.

I have never used irfanview with home basic but it has worked fine with every other version of windows including, Vista Ultimate, and Windows 7 beta so I don't think there should be a problem. Plus like I said it's free and small so it's no skin off your back if it doesn't, but I highly doubt that it won't. As far as something like flickr or photobucket and the like they are online based and shouldn't give you any problem either, although you will be alot more limited in what you can do.

I've got crappy Vista and the sites I mentioned work with it. I also use Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 and it works with Vista..... I had some older Jasc something or other on here that worked with it as well.

if youre looking for easy just re-size them in paint I kinda stumbled across tha the other day so that is what I have been doing. This Vista basic sucks so I may have a hard drive put in my other one and go back to using it.Thanks to everyone for the advice and if I end up keeping this one then I'll try one of the ones mentioned.
