are the gaskets new? had a friend that had a problem with them and the coating was not on them. he used that copper gasket spray on them. i have had no problem with mine, and have reused them a couple of times.

you need to spray them, then torque them down, let them sit up for a while then loosen back up, and re torque

A few people ( myself included ) have used a small amount of the KW Block seal during the break in miles in addition to the other suggestions... With warm weather coming running water/KW for about 500 miles shouldn't be an issue.

i dont even spray them and used them 3 times with no problems. You need to make sure to brake clean the surface and make sure it was decked and the heads are flat.

Your deck surfaces have to be perfectly smooth for those gaskets to seal. If you have any kind of grain on the deck surface, they will leak.

How was ur head and block cut? If they were not machined with a near mirror finish it will not seal, Alot of machine shops Surface heads with a fly cutter and it leaves tool marks which cometic wont seal against there bad like that, thats why alot of people do not like Cometic. I personally have re-used mine twice, the 2nd time I used the copper spray just for added insurance, But I think if u spray it with copper U should be alright.

I always copper coat them on both sides of each layer and have never had a problem with them.

I'll agree about the heads needing to be smooth as well as the block, but if you put some copper coat on them you won't have a problem, just think about all the guys that do head gaskets or have to take the head off for another reason at the track in the middle of a race, there shit isn't perfectly smooth, and they don't leak:D

NEVER HAD A PROB WITH THOSE GASKETS LEAKING.. but im sure it could give probs in some cases.. we always just make sure the block and head surface is slick as a baby's ass.
what does the manufacturer say about copper spray on those gaskets?

Cometic doesn't recommend the spray, but whatever works I guess.

I have used them multiple times also, no spray/sealant or anything, and they worked great. Not 1 problem with them.
