Dodge Srt-4 Vs. Others

Hello, names Shawn. I am new to cars and know very little. I want to buy a new car and I wanted to ask a few things:

My price cap is $15,000 for a new car (but would rather pay less)

I was thinking about getting a dodge srt 4 2005. My friend said it's the best racing style car for the price. I'm a bit iffy on the external looks of the neon though. So I was wondering if perhaps you guys could suggest some nice cars (preferably '95 and up due to mileage) for under 15k.

I was thinking I like the 3000 gt and the jetta wollfensburg(SP?) edition. What can you guys tell me?

KAKA WTF! but anyway the srt4 is a great platform. it has a healthy aftermarket and can make a ton of power depending on your wallet.
