This convertible I bought has a Dart blocked motor in it with the retrofit hydraulic roller cam . looking to do a cam swap and have a couple of questions about what I can use. I am under the understanding that any hydraulic roller should swap but when I start looking at some of the Comp stuff it says its for use as a retrofit in blocks that didnt orig come with a hydraulic roller. Would the cams not be one and the same? Looking at something close to .600 for lift and prob mid .230's to .240's duration at .050.

Retrofit cams are a small base circle.

I guess thats where I am getting confused as to whether the block was intended for the stock one or it has a retro in it. Here's what the Dart site says about the block.

"The Sportsman blocks are also designed to take a hydraulic roller camshaft without additional machine work, although it will take a solid roller camshaft as well "

I may have to call Dart tomorrow and see what they say but not 100% sure which Dart block it actually has as was just told it was the good one.

I can tell you that the DART IE Sportman block will work with standard roller cams.
