I'd like to ask you all to pray for my son Josh. I'll make this brief as I can but I know some of you will want details. It started Saturday night before last. He was running fever, achy, throwing up and his throat would kill him trying to eat or drink. Well after seeing a few dr's over the next few days and going to emergency room, outpatient and gastrologist, we finally found out what was wrong. He has a very severe case of esophagitis. Basically it's sores (ulcers) all the way down his esophagus. When the liquid or food hit it, it's like swallowing balls of fire. He went a week and only ate 1/2 a banana, 1/2 bowl of chicken noodle soup, 2 bites of grilled chicken and only liquids were sips to take his medicine. Well needless to say he became dehydrated and lost 14lbs. I'm not going into all the details but it was a frustrating week. Along all the visits to the medical community, he had to go for an ultrasound on his gall bladder, right kidney, pancreas, and liver. They found echogenic sludge in his gall bladder. It's small stones or grainy like stuff that turn to stones in time. They removed his gall bladder Monday but he still can't stand to eat or drink. So, he's still in the hospital. It just takes time for the esophagus to heal.

I want to thank you all for the thoughts and prayers in advance.

Thanks,
Danny, Josh and Jordan

Prayers sent!!! This is the 3rd person in the past week I've heard of with this same thing. I don't know what's causing it in so many people - and now a young person- but I wish him a good recovery. I had something similar 10ish years ago that ended in me having my gall bladder removed.

Get well soon to Josh!

Damn bro I'm so sorry to hear. Ill send a prayer his way and please tell him to stay strong. Pain is temporary and makes you stronger. He will get through this fine I'm sure and go back to being a normal son who takes his dads tools all the time and doesn't put them back lol. Good luck and God bless

Thanks to all that have prayed and called. He is home now. He is able to eat a little bit of soft foods and liquids but it still causes him some horrible pain. If I had to sleep another night in that hospital chair bed or whatever you call it, I'd probably been in the hospital myself. That thing has about got me crippled. lol.... Thanks again....Danny, Josh, and Jordan

I feel your pain on sleeping in the hospital. I've had to do it several times and there is no such thing as sleep there. Between the uncomfortable chair/bed and them coming in every hour to check vitals and what not, it's impossible. Glad to hear your son is home and pray he gets better soon.

Yeah I slept in the waiting room at Emory for a month and a half solid when I went through my ordeal..................I guess that's why I can fall asleep (pass out) in the most precarious positions and situations with ease LOL!
