Nick man, you should have hung around, you would have got to see me race the ~600rwhp '03 cobra w/ a bunch of boost and plenty of nitrous and i raced a sean hyland (sp?) supercharged mustang w/ some stuff done to it. I beat the supercharged gt by about 10 carlengths and beat the '03 cobra w/ him being at the back bumper. it was a really close race. i broke the tires loose at 90mph and almost took out his rear quarter panel as we were still neck and neck and so i threw it into 4th and pulled back by. it was a really good race, i figured i'd probably lose since he was spraying but i guess weight has a play in things. anyways, had a blast tonight. :)

yeah, it was the black one that i had been trying to chase down most the night. he was going to try and make it down to team ford sunday to do a little tuning with the bottle but i don't know if/how he did. he has the longtube headers and stuff off sean's car with the sonic blue one, matter of fact, it's basically the exact same boost/nitrous setup. i just kept slowly creeping up more and more so it was fun, i wasn't sure if my car was going to be faster or not but i guess those roots blower don't pull quite as hard up top as the turbos do.

Great job Barry!! Breaking loose at 90mph is insane. Mine would never do that. You still running the 7-8psi or did you bump it a little? I need the name of your buddy for the emmissions. Mine is coming up and I have a girl at work that has a 96 Camaro Z28 that needs a little help. Does he do women !!!, just kidding does he do Camaro's as well?
Congrat's on the kill, very impressive:D

Oh Yea!! did you here? Roy Blew his engine again:cry2: :smash:
He thinks he blew out two of his rear apex seals. That suck's he said he will be down the rest of the year. You'll have to wait to race him now!!

that's with it pretty much maxed out AND with the nitrous...and longtubes, catback, chip, etc etc. it was my understanding it makes somewhere around 510rwhp w/out the bottle.
i'm going to see if he wants to run again this weekend b/c we never had any 'clean' races, it's kinda hard trying to get 2 potential 10 second street cars paced beside each other at ~70mph and have enough room to go w/out other traffic, etc. one race he wasn't quite at my front and he took off so i did too but we weren't dead side by side, he just dropped back further from where he was for that race. then the other race, i didn't shortshift out of 3rd and spun and had to pull back up and by but it is extremely fast. anyways, we'll probably go again this weekend, i'll have to get my buddy to call him and see if he wants to. and i'll have to do that later this week b/c if i let him know too soon, he'll be chaning nitrous jets, re-tuning and so on, i want to do another run just like last weekend w/ no changes to either car. we'll see

typically w/ my 3.27 gears, i start out in 3rd at ~60mph and it breaks loose at ~75-80mph so i can short shift (but loose a lot of power b/c it isn't in the peak band) and avoid that and just go ahead and get it up into 4th. that one particular run we started at about 70mph so i guess it was a little behind on hitting peak tq from where it usually does b/c the turbos had to spool so this time it did it around 4900-5000rpm in 3rd which was around 90mph and i had to lift b/c when it unloaded the tires, the rearend started coming around some and my bumper/rear 1/4 panel got real close to his door/rear1/4 panel. i've been running a little more boost but it kinda started making more boost especially down low and in lower gears when i did the 3.27's b/c of the difference in how it loaded the motor.
that sean hyland car was the best to race b/c the cobra knew what he was up against but the sean hyland car just came flying up beside me while cruising around and he was making all kinds of noise and kept hitting his blowoff valve. i revved at him and naturally it sounds like a turd when i do that so he wanted to race me from a kick on 575. he was pretty convinced my car was virtually stock so after having 10-12 carlengths on him in about 4 seconds, i lifted and he just followed me back to starbucks and we talked for a while. it was funny b/c he had to other 200# guys riding with him so he had less power and a lot more weight and still wanted to race (ofcourse, he thought he had a lot more power than me though) he was a good sport about it.
as for emissions, give me a call on Wednesday and i'll let ya know what all needs to be done.

i heard that, that really sucks. i'm quite confident that i could beat him but i would have run him anyways, his car was still cool to be going so fast and be a little rotary though. sux he broke it

Congrats on your two kills! When I get mine back together (whenever that will be???) we'll have to get together. Sorry it blew up before we got to race. :(
