who else is having log in problems?

for some reason, i got a couple of pm's this morning of friends of others reporting some login problems. they thought i might have banned them. to reiterate what i said in the pm, i don't have a problem with any of you guys. i get frustrated with a few of you sometimes, but it doesn't mean i don't like you. also, try not to jump to conclusions, none of you have been or are being banned. i am, however, going to get rid of the extra screen names. the people that made them are more than welcome to post under their normal user name all they want. all the extra names end up getting used for is to start shit without bringing it on yourself so i'm getting rid of those. no users are being banned though. i typically resolve a problem with someone, not ban them.

with that said, if any of you guys have talked to your friends this morning reporting a login problem, find out what it's saying when they try to login. i'm wondering if it just isn't a glitch with the site (which i seemed to be getting last night on my computer and a little right now. for example, i got an error page twice trying to submit this) or with their service. tell them to try a few times too. let me know what's up and i'll look into it further.

To add to this, I show no users 'awaiting confirmation'. If you provided a fake or invalid/non-working email, there is no way your account can be activated; therefore, the name you tried to register will not work.

i can log in but the site will not let me to the forums section where you choose the region listed. i can however reach the option to speak in the general section. pm me for any info.(hoover 112)..... i had to use willie's login to get to this section where i could post. barry this is my only login that i use. i did however create another account to start with but i didn't like the screen name so i started this name and have used it since.

yes, this is the problem. used to, a fictitious email address could be used to register. most sites, after registering, you have to click on an email confirmation before you can actually post. streetcarforums wasn't this way. with all the fake names lately, we changed it that way. so, the problem apparently is coming from a couple of the legit names either provided a dead email way back or you gave a legit email address but never clicked the link in the email that confirms your membership. so, used to you could post anyways, now you can't. for those that this is the case, we'll fix on an individual basis to make sure we get all of the original users back.

I had some issues this morning and then when I did get logged in it was really dog azz slow but everything seem's cool here now.
