Like the title says. Spent 3 1/2 hours today to put a clutch in it. Just gotta put some miles on it for the break in and its ready to go :D

The way we bleed it is really quite simple. I've done 10+ cars the same way and have had few problems.

Steps
1. Pump the clutch about 10-15 pumps
2. hold the pedal to the floor and open the bleeder
3.close beeder and repeat.

I really want to get a mitivac from autozone and bleed it out with that to be 100% sure that all the air is out of the system. I'm sure by the time its back in action we will have that done :)

Acutually the best way i have found is do this get a vacume hose the size of the nipple on the bleeder and have it about 3 ft long. Get a bottle of some sort i use a clear powerade bottle fill it up with brake fluid about 25% and drill two holes one in the top and one on the side near the top (to let air get out) feed the line in the top and make sure its in the brake fluid and then conect it to the nipple and open the nipple then just keep pressing the pedel. Watch the resivor it will empty kwick. This alows all the air to get out and only suck fluid back in. Thats what they tought us at honda school.

Also you can never unsay something like that. It will always be in the back of her mind now. Thacker has seen you like 3 times what could he know. I'm sure by the time its back in action we will have that done :) i hate to tell you but thats not the proper way to do it and although it works ok it will shorten the clutch life and cause grinding problems like i heard last night. the correct way to bleed it is to pull the slave cylinder off the bellhousing and push the tab in and out bleeding it that way. it is the only way you will get the air out. i know this because we used to road race these cars at a national level and i also built several nascar craftsman truck and nextel cup show cars which we used the gm hydraulic stuff on. not trying to be an ass or argue but just trying to help.take it however but next time try it my way.... it also is quicker and easier

Thats what they tought us at honda school. yeah but if you look in the gm service manuals they advise not to use the pedal to bleed this. i have had a lot of experience with the gm slave cylinders and by and far they are junk. they are not very strong and using the pedal to bleed the clutch not only shortens the life of the slave but also the clutch and doesnt get all the air out.i could see where that method would work better then just trying to pump and bleed but on the gm stuff i know the method i described is better and quicker in the end and doesnt cause internal damage to parts. i have seen the tip of the slave break off trying to bleed 6.5 diesel truck clutches and have seen camaro guys have the slave come apart or just start working poorly. like i said, its not my car nor am i buying the parts but if you want to do it right, then the way i listed is correct

Well you are not going to be able to pull the slave off the bellhousing because its not mounted on the bellhousing. The slave is mounted on the transmission. You have to pull the transmission to get to the slave. To see what I'm talking about i'll find a picture and post it for you. I do believe you are talking about lt1 hydraulics tho, which are indeed a closed system. You have to push the thing in and out until there are no more air bubbles coming out of the resevoir. I know your not trying to be an ass. Seems to me like your tryin to help which is awesome :)

I have a license and everything I just don't have the cash to finish it like I want to. I graduate in 19 days, then I will go applying for jobs. Once my cash flow is right.. my motor will be right too :D. So far though its coming together considering the little amount of money I have in it.

They just gott worse :(. I actually favor lt1 hydraulics. My moms got a 94 ws6 clone with a 6 speed. Still uses the factory hydraulics with a ram clutch i put in last summer. Shifts absolutely beautiful. :D I still pull it out every once in a while to smoke this little neon.. thats you steffan ;)!! I guess it all depends on how hard you beat on it though. :D

blah blah bla....I did that to be a smart ass & I think its pretty funny! Honestly I could care less what any of you think of me & if any of you like me! I might be a single mother but the last thing I need is some "online attention" from anyone one here...what good is that really going to do me? I mean if someone wants to make me the center of attention & talk about me all the time then hell, go for it! Being a mother is 1 of the greatest things in the world-married or not! I was taught to treat them all like ladies, but only if they act like one. You think it's funny that you're a single mother and you refer to yourself as a hoe.
