Chris jumped, had atleast 1 -2 cars on the jump. I spun like all hell and hit the limiter 3 times in first gear.

His car runs good no doubt, wished I would have got a track run, unfortunately I just spun a rod bearing.

Sucks about ur car Thacker.. I heard u dumped the clutch at 4500.. lol. Not a good move, those old school et streets don't hook as hard dumping it with a stick car as the new drag radials do.. It can't handle the shock of the 6 speed quite as well.. The sidewalls are too weak. Best bet would have been to ride it a touch or modulate the throttle. :( Shoulda let Craig drive it a time also on a rematch before you blew the bitch up.. he drove my car with et streets on numerous occasions and knows the ropes :)

Just buy a stock shortblock off of ls1tech.. they go for less than a thou. And your not going to ever spray more than a 200 shot.. no need to buy a stronger shortblock for that. Just means when something stupid like a nitrous solenoid hanging, or plug breaking... or crapping out fuel pump happens, that you'll just be blowing more cash.

we might head that way later on. we had jamil call clint (cobraclone) last night b/c clint had just left moreland when we got to there. he was headed up to buford where you guys were...sounds like y'all had fun though. we had a blast anyways with the guys we did race. everyone was really cool, but i didn't get to bed until 6am which sucked!

Barry we were in Buford around 10'ish and they called us to Moreland for a few races but no one ever showed up that wanted to race. Everyone was split in 1/2 with some South and some North but when we left Moreland to go run Thacker I think everyone left to go watch some racing. in Buford.

We did come down there and back.... lol We made it from the Buford park and ride to Moreland in 20 minutes. Even when we left Moreland it took around 35 minutes to get back to Buford cruising at a grandma 75-80 mph with the cops flashing their lights at us and shit on 285. :D

Over all we had a great time and it was cool meeting you guy's. Yall aint too shabby for some white folks but that Eddie guy in your crowd forgot the pot that he had collected but that's ok... My son is buying a new pair of shows with it today. :eek:

Thacker's never driven on slicks before on the street so I guess he didn't know what to expect. Not that he probably could have won anyways, he'd need to drop at least 200-300lbs (k-member/a-arms, and shit like that) or do some mild headwork one if your car is running what a ported eaton car should run.. You need to throw a shot on that bitch :) There's a guy on ls1tech who used to have a stout ls1 with a stall, headers, and 100 shot.. and he sold that shit for a 03 cobra. He did all the boltons, ported eaton, and sprays a 75 shot on top of that.. I heard his car is trappin 130mph+..

oh, i see. well, we ended up getting a race anyways...we just didn't do it there. it was with the guys that brought that huge transport trailer 18-wheeler. they had 2 cars on it lol - the camaro with a big block and nitrous and also had a dark red chevelle with 20's. everyone was really nice.

I don't know anyone that will go all the way down there to watch for cops. Everyone goes down there to watch racing but it is a good idea. However the only time that cops showed up there wasn't anywhere to go to... There are only 2 ways to go on one street and the cops came from both ends the only times that I know of except once and no one had time to go anywhere anyway. A spotter on a bike would be cool but I still think it would be too late to do anything unless you were a mile away. Just the chance you take when you don't go to the trakck but everoyne knows that already.

There is an awesome place within 5 minutes of the Park and Ride with plenty of parking, usually no traffic at all and awesome 2 lane with plenty of room so there is more than 1 place that's good for street racing.

I didn't think it was a bearing failure either. Oil pressure was fine and it'd only make that noise sometimes.. It'd go away at certain rpms, thats why i thought the busted exhaust was the culprit. I looked under and grabbed it and it was making an identical noise when it'd vibrate. Oh well I'll have the motor out tommorow night :D

Just clearing up the way the race went down.


When we got to the starting line, I heated the tires up pretty quick. His buddy that was down there put some water down for chris, I don't blame him on them sticky ass tires. Chris tried to do a burnout 2-3 times and I believe they said his traction control on the computer kept kicking in for some reason, odd problem but a problem none the less.

I backed up and reheated the tires extremely well. Chris once again tried to do a burnout, with no success.. he finally dumped it and spun tehm out to heat them up. I backed up again, dumped from 4500 this time... and it seemed to hook real well, so I figured that'd be my launch point.

I knew chris would jump, so I pulled up.. and got ready.. sure enough he jumped sooner then I expect and I chased after, chasing about 1 car loss right off the start. I dumped at 4500 thinking it'd hook in that part of the street, as well as it did 15 feet behind that spot.. big mistake, it immediately tacked up and hit the limiter. Chris seemed to hook right away, and as the rpms climbed is when I saw his car get a bit sideways, as mine did about the same spot, but I was already playing catchup. I was proud of the clutch tho, it hit 2-3 fine, and once I got up in the RPMS the raping had slowed down to Chris slowly pulling.. I'd say 6 cars when we passed the crowd.

FWIW i think thacker held up alright for having a dam rod knock, and that was his first time ever on the slicks. Some more seat time and he could have held up alot better

at least you drove the car yourself. i am glad to se that. if it makes you feel any better i made a fool of myself the first time i ran anybody with my car under some pressure. made two passes against a slow ass car, one was questionable and the other i really fucked up. ended up shaking the tires so hard it broke the right rear shock. ended up having to pay for losing the race and counln't even settle up the score. now the guy won't have any part of racing me again since i have made some improvement in how the car leaves. get the motor fixed whatever it may be, i've been begging for a race with you, hopefully we should cross paths soon.:D

I was there with him and never once did I hear him say anything about out running anything. He told everyone that his car was slow as he stated on here. He was looking for a race and he is by no means a shit talker like you just made it sound. I don't know what the fuck got twisted but I think someone has their shit crossed somewhere or I went deaf over the weekend.

I don't think you know him or you would know he doesn't talk shit about anyone and he didn't the other night while I was there. Which night was this suppose to be?

I was there when he asked Thacker to run him. I had forgot about that. And he offered to run the Nova too but no one wanted to put any money down and Thacker denied the request. No smack talk. thats just the way it happened.
