A shot in hell since no one seems to be in here but anyone from the Boston area running a really suped up one of these race a WRX two weeks ago, hard run late at night? 95 turning onto 93

I'm curious if you were going all out or backing off at 105? You gave me the best run I've seen up here.

Not from the area...
What do you drive?

An 02 WRX. I'm trying to sell it to go to an STI.

I don't get my wife because I can buy an expensive car and that's fine, but if I want to modify my inexpensive car it's wasting money.

I just sold my 94 Miata to my brother and he's rebuilding it to handle more power. I had it turbo charged, with just about every improvement you could make but I hadn't had it on the road for over a year because the wife hated the car. Oh well, at least I can use the money to go towards the STI.

The wife will always hate the car until you get her one of her own or get her to start driving it the way you do (ie - let her take it down the track!) ;)
That's how we "converted" a bunch of the wives in our car club. Now they all want one or already own one! hehe

I second that comment. Plus, you have to remember...modifying your car means that you actually HAve to spend time on it. Well, to her, that takes away from her time with you!!;) So, what you have to do is include her, just like 02GTMaMa said...let her drive it, too. My husband, WNA-LOSE, is a sick freak when it comes to cars. We have 3 mustangs and a Lightning, what does that tell ya? It can even get to me sometimes and I totally dig the hobby! But, I go to the track with him, I go cruising with him, I even sit in the garage and watch...oh yeah, and one of those mustangs is mine!

Hmmm, an interesting theory. It works better when your wife is actually willing to try new things. The few times I've been to an autocross she's adamantly refused to accompany me.

The rare occasion I need or ask for her help in the garage, she gives me so much grief about it I instantly regret it. I got a vacum pump rather than use her help to bleed the brakes.

I tried to entice her by describing this wonderful couple that both raced the same car at the autocross. The way they'd compete and the wife more than held her own against her husband. The fact that woman was I'm pretty sure over 50 and she said she didn't pick it up till her 40's. My wife wasn't buying it.

The only car thing she's ever liked was when I got her a remote car starter so she could start her car from her office to warm or cool it before she got there.

My wife has driven my car several times, and her comments consisted of telling me how much of a pain the manual is in traffic.

try to get one of your buddie's wives to pull her int. My ex girlfriend loved my old 5.0 vert. I asked her if she wanted to drive it one day..and she was like "no, its too much power for me, I'll break it" heh..it was a stock 5.0. it wasn't fast...
