Well I am getting closer to putting in the driver side floor pan. While I was getting read for final fitting and trimming, I started poking around my kick panel area and found alot of rust. I knew that once I had the pan in, I couldn't easily go back and fix the problem in the kick panel. I started cutting the old metal away and ended up with the pic below. As you can see, if I would have waited any longer, I would have had serious problems. After I got 95% of the bad metal out, I sand blasted the area. If you look close, the metal around the captured nut on the bottom is pretty bad. I was barely able to get a bit of a weld in there to strengthen the metal around the nut. The arrow points to where I got a little happy with my welder trying to make sure that brace stays on. When I was prying around a little, it came off so I had to weld it back on. Noone will ever see this part of the car anyways. The next step is to clean and prep it and then por-15 that whole section.
