Headlight lenses starting to turn yellow?? Grab you some Mother's Chrome Polish and treat them JUST like you would chrome! Works great :D

I know on some cars, like the '93-'94 model Supra, their headights start to haze over and there is no cure for it. Many will buy the newer model headlights that don't do that.
But, before buying new headlights, try that technique out!

Since I first posted this thread, they have actually now come out with a polish just for headlights and such. Its Mothers Plastic Polish I believe. Its the same thing as the chrome polish though. Glad I could help. :)

many of them did go with the newer style but some have used the oven to open up the lights and then polish them from the inside....I like the looks of the newer ones anyway so if I had an older supra that is what I would do....

There's also another technique one can use on plastic headlights:
Sanding down the headlights with soap and water, first using 600 grit.
Then, use 1500 grit to help smooth it off, using soap and water also.
Let headlights dry. They will look milky.
Get some plastic polish and a polisher, and polish away on those beasts. :)
Good as new!!!

Pretty much any polish will work. Just don't be overly aggressive. Once you have polished, use Meguiar's Plastic cleaner. They will look like brand new and all you'll need to do is clean them occasionally.

The polish works ok but doesnt last long,we (our shop)wet sand the lights w/400-800 grit paper(400 for the bad ones),dry and make sure all oxidation is gone, tape off area, use a paint precleaner/grease remover (we use dupont prekleen),paint lights with clearcoat, usually a couple of thick coats (aerosol can clear works). if your not a painter pratice on something first. worse case you paint and run it,wetsand off and repaint. This will awhile if done properly... hope to help. ( we charge $75ea.pair)

Oh great, thanks for this. I thought there's no remedy for this. I got this yellow lights twice and all I do was changed my headlights. It's really irritating when you drove in the opposite direction and the lights in front of you were color yellow.
