K20Z3 engine, 197 hp/139 lbs ft torque (under new SAE power ratings)
6-speed tranny with RSX Type-R's tochigi-fuji helical LSD and taller 6th gear to reduce cruising rpm (+ for gas mileage)
Same brakes as the RSX-S, with ABS and EBD
Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 tires 215/45-17's but apparently those are optional summer tires (yucky Pilot MXM4 is the standard tire)
2877 lb curb weight

they also say asking price is going to be around 20k $

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMTA0NDc5MzZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx.jpg

now as you can see by the pictures , it still utilizes electronic power steering... one of the few things it kept from the previous model *ep* the engine looks like it sits farther back and the intake manifold is alot longer and styled differently then the type s / ep intake manifold.

and thats all i can really tell right now , cant wait till it comes to showrooms in october :gaga:

I like it, and I think it looks good. But for someone looking to go fast, I don't see how you can justify buying an Si over a neon.

yea, it looks much better than the '05 models. it looks like they tossed out the egg and replaced it with an rsx.

Not bad, I like the interior.

My dad has an EP model, looking to sell it soon. I wish Honda kept the shifter coming out of the dash I like it there.

Its ok, but its hard to get excited about a FWD car that only makes 197 hp/139 lbs ft torque. I guess it good gas mileage, it would a good beater in a few years after it depreciates.

truly , it only looks difficult if you are going to pull out the motor , it looks like it has to drop from the bottom :(

but on the other hand ,the aftermarket turbo kits will have to be bottom mount from what it looks like so it shouldnt be to bad for aftermarket parts... but over all , it looks like some things are going to be a pain and others are going to be easy...

out of a 2.0 naturally aspirated? any other cars out there that can do that? and unlike your chevy , hondas dont take such a high hit , so wait 10 years than maybe you can get a good deal and have a nice beater

and on a couple of final notes , with my ultimate guesstimation its 1/4 times should be somewhere around 14.4 - 14.6 stock and it should be on the same suspension as the 05 type s , not the ep or older type s THANK GOD! not to shabby for a 20,000$ fwd :D

Ohh, ricer math. My BMW gets 195hp out of 2.3 liters, who gives a crap either way? Cars depreciate, no matter what you buy. I didn't buy my Camaro so I could re-sell it for a profit - but I wish you luck reselling that rare civic.

The S2000 made 240hp with 2.0L of displacement, yes, but my motor has more torque then it does. The 04's and up are much better...It's a 2.2, and the gearing is a lot better, but it doesn't have the 9000rpm redline anymore.

My understanding is that the new s2000 ratios are taller, which makes it keep about the same acceleration performance as the later, even with the more hp on the new engine.

I have a feeling that the previous s2000 box is what is going into the 6speed solstice.

Same HP, more torque. And I'm not sure how the gearing is better? Thats just what I had read.

I just said that they are better, kinda like the cobra compared to the GT, but I don't see you going out and buying a cobra, but I know it has more power, better gearing, and other stuff, the cobra that is.

What do you mean? How is that apples and oranges? Thats like green apples to the red apples. They are differnt, yet they are still the same...I didn't compair a roush/saleen/shelby to a GT, so I don't understand where you were going with your comment.

The reason the new S2K's are not BETTER than the old ones are due to political correctness. The first S2000's have the higher spring rates, and while they don't have balls on the bottom end, the higher RPM limit allows them more time in their power band which is where the car should stay. The new ones have a softer suspension, less RPM's and gain only minimal low end torque over the previous model.

i understand these things can be changed, but for someone wanting to run a STOCK class in autox, the 1st gen. S2000's are still the choice.

I don't think it is that cut and dry. Most people choose to run the 00-03's because they already had one or because they are cheaper than a brand new one (or you can already buy one prepped for autocross). The 04+ cars are plenty fast, too.

Well, for one, when you see us/me in person, you're probably not trying to ram your he-love of the EP Civic down our throats, or the vastly superior K-series shitblocks all mighty glory up our ass.

Generally when I see someone out, it is because I am the place for a reason. To race, to autox, or to eat. I don't care what someone has to say about some random shit, I am there for a reason. I dare say that alota people are in agreance with me when I say, "I'd rather not talk about internet bullshit when I'm out trying to have a good time."

Just because you think the worlds greatest car is a FWD "Honda's bottom of the line" entry vehicle, CIVIC is soo awesome, doesn't mean we do. And just because I own a Mustang does not mean that I think it is the greatest car in the world. You don't/didn't see me posting pictures/specs of the 05 GT's because, basically I couldn't care less what it has. You all have access to dealership brochures, they're free, go pick you up one.

It weighs just under what my CL does and makes about 33% more power.

I'll just add a 50shot and run the same times as a new civic SI for 1/3 the cost total. :why:

The only thing I have to say on the matter is that the 06 looks 100% better than the 03-05 models IMHO.
And as far as comparing cars, there are too many aspects to consider when comparing them. Red, you may say, "I'll put a 50 shot on the CL", but then you still have an old honda with the accord single cam motor. Some people buy new cars not to drag race them, but to drive them w/o having to worry about the maintenance issue. Its not always about how fast you get there, its about having fun along the way.

Holy crap - I agree on this one.

This is why I have a 240ish HP N/A 300ZX and not buying the SC'd Cobra in Knox like I was seriously considering. I am going out and spending $6K on furniture for my apartment instead, much better investment IMHO.
