I am looking into getting a fuel cell and running a holley inline electric fuel pump. I was told that i need to ground the pump to the battery. My question is where should i wire the positive lead to?

I would put it on a 30 amp relay, run a hot wire from the battery to the relay....opposite side to the pump.....on the other side of the relay run a trigger wire...[12 volts from a key on power source to a toggle switch...other side of the toggle to the relay]...then the opposite side of the relay to ground.

I would wire it just like Redbull said. Make sure that you use 10 Gauge wire and besure to put a 30A inline fuse within 18 inches of the battery the wire would then go from the fuse holder to terminal "30" on the relay then connect the hot leg on the fuel pump to terminal "87". Connect the ground on the pump to a good chassis ground as close as possible to the pump. If you need to add any wire , be sure that it is 10 Gauge.

Now like Ricky said, find a switched 12 volt source up front and connect it to a Single pole switch. Then run a wire from the other side of the single pole switch to terminal "85" on the relay. This wire can be smaller than 10 gauge as long as it doesn't get any smaller than the rating of the overcurrent protection of the control circuit. I would use 14 gauge. Then connect terminal "86" to ground. This should take care of it.

Good luck.
