so i am comeing up for the next 2 weeks looking to take out the crossville mustangs what is the fastest what color is it and where can i find it i am going to the track friday night will it be there.is the track a good one.Now my car is a street car not a drag car i want a street only perrferably a mustang.

all of the fastest street cars will be out of town racing this next weekend, either memphis or huntsville. Week after that should be no problem to find you a race. I dont have a mustang but will be more than glad to race.

I drive mine, no tubs, full interior, radio works, all street equipment 10.5 not a w tire. all steel no lexan and 3600lbs with me in it.

no I was talking about Randal pryor. It sounds like the guy only wants to race the fastest car capable of a cross country drive. I have yet to understand the difference, every time I try to race someone they say a real street car??? Mine has more on it now than it did when the factory built it. Oh well. And with the 3.70 gear and 29.5 tire I can race a long way......

I'm with you.....hell, my car isn't even a drag related car. I use it mainly for road course/street and autox stuff(ya'know, cone-dodgin' stuff). My car has a cage in it, but not because it's fast. :)

It's not required, but it stiffens the car up, makes it more predictable, and is a cheap safety addition. (as stated in my ORIGINAL post stating the reason it's there. :why: )

1. rules mandate it
2. safety
3. stiffens the car up

funny they see a cage and say OOOOOPS not a street car, but what they mean to say is: AHH better not race him, he might be fast.

helmets are not part of driving to the store either but we wear them, at the track right?

I tried to get a chromoly snap together cage just for the track but they dont sell them.:stumped:

If I was REALLY trying to get away with something, I'd just use PVC pipe, fill it with HELIUM and tape/put rollbar padding over it all. :clown:

ok so what i have gathered there is 3 cars that will race for sure.am i correct on this mean68,the white mustang,and blue_gt.thats cool my car is copper orange it has a 302 stock short block,procharger,24# injectors and just some outher boltons and stuff.my car went a 7.91 on drag slicks and spray it runs ok it ant as fast as some cars but my cuz lives there and he says that as long as i shifft good and beat the tree i wont have a problem with anyone up there.SO NOW THAT WE GOT THAT OUT THE WAY RANK THEM 3 CARS I NAMED FASTEST TO SLOWEST AND I WILL START AT TO BOTTEM AND GO UP FRIDAY NIGHT AND I WILL BE THERE FOR SURE.

yes his car is bad to the bone, my 5.5's @3600lbs is better than some though. And it was sprayed heavy if all you have is a powershot. But on motor or the spray orangejuiced is bad to the bone. see you week after this.

Isnt there a Duce in town with no cage that is a pump gas daily driver with small rubber? I think it is faster than your street car....right???

as far as it being raster who knows? i haven't put tires on my car but my car is a little heavier also. by just looking at mph im up in that one.but it runs good! im not on her to start smack talk about the duece and hitting up a race,but if thats what he wants just stop by when he see's me out and say hey,lets run m instead of revving his motor up when he see's me. thats doing nutn for either of us! and i drive my car everyday!!! i dont have many cars to choose from to drive. i have seen it out 2 or 3 times not everyday. not saying it cant but it aint so i will leave it at that! this is all just to build up a race between us anyway, and all that would have to be done is just ask me to race! but i said i was street buisness not track buisness so!!!!

MIKE RANDELL as for just assuming the deuce is faster that rapidgt thats not very smart. BOTH are friends of mine. we have seen the deuces numbers but not rapid gt's. the deuce pulled around 94 mph(forgive me if i am bad off). rapid gt's mph was within 1 of that on motor and street tires. you do the math. i think it would be a hell of a race!! i just don't want to c 2 of my friends bitching and fighting over a race.

i also would like to race the deuce in my car, motor to motor. should be a heck of a race. if EVERYONE could just kiss and make up we could have some good times at the track like we used to.

That was a joke , My car is a turd ..... I guess right now fastest street car in Crossville is Jims , But lets be real , It is street legal , Not a street car . Im more impressed with cars that can drive cross country with the a/c on come to the track change tires and run mid 6s on pump gas and drive home unbroken . Its not cut up, its not tubbed, it has all the factory stuff, plus more. The only thing missing is the HEAT, but VW's dont have heat either. I drive my car, I ran pump gas in it last weekend, It has a 3.70 gear in it, I have drove it to sparta and back. It still has the rear set in it, radio, all the windows, all the factory steel, except the hood. Granted it doesnt get 30 mpg but it does do real well. I know the kind of cars you are talking about Billy and I am not busting your chops, cuz I have no problems with you. But Why is my car not a STreet car?
Would I drive mine to nashville? No. The wear and tear is not needed since I can haul mine. But many think my car is some sort of race car, but is it?

From my experiences, and eavesdropping......I've found the answer(s) why.

Your car is NOT a street car if it it has:

Roll cage/bars of any kind in the interior
Run drag radial or equivelent tire
Doesn't get better than 30mpg
Nitrous
Race gas
Hauled on a trailer to events(even for convenience/insurance reasons)

Oh, and the last most important thing is....... Your car is a race car if you beat the other guy you were racing. :nod:

By all accouts your car , Josh's chevy 2 , Smiths old Cutless would all be raced in street car classes and are street legal cars . You even said yourself It would you be silly to put the wear and tear on the motor . I myself just like the cars that are true daily drivers that are running mid and in some cases low 6s in the eighth ... Some of the guys on this site in the Chattanooga section have some of these cars ...

the back seat is in it, and it does have a sound system in it. The glide you say, do you know most of new york city taxi cabs have glides in them, are they not a street car. Common Billy I think what you are trying to say is gonna come out sonner or later.

I have a 75 watt pioneer set up in my car, which is far more than they came with. mine has tilt wheel, full headliner, all the interior, 4 heavy duty speakers.

So that only leaves the heat! I say this, since mine has no heat, and still is scaling 3600 lbs, I will give any of you street cars with factory heat, 4 car lengths

I think boulton said it the best way, its not a real street car to those who cant sit next to it.

A red 71 chevelle, with a 406 factory suspension will be leaving the HoweMotorsports stable in the next week or two, and there are three others due to be out real soon.
Also one of the baddest mopars this town has ever seen will be done in the spring, 440+ inch with a ATI procharger on it.

Billy I never said I had a 180 shot, I said I wasnt spraying heavy, the runs 6.50's on motor @ 112 mph, I have been playing with gear and camshaft the last few weeks, but the car has run 5.91 on a 180 shot. Thats no bs. Its my 6.00 tune up. The rest I will leave up to anyone who wants to bet, I use a SPORTSMAN FOGGER, with the sportsman solinoids, I had a cheater plate under the carb the old 4 hole style. It now has a 128 hole plate and good solonoid, I have never sprayed the car with both systems at the track, and probably wont unless I need too. The rest I will keep secret. I have no idea what the car will run this coming weekend as I just made a few more changes and the only way to know is to run it.

The oil goes from the pump to the crank and UP, if you restrict it at the top it keeps more oil in the bottom, and when you dont have a high volume pump, this is a BIG MUST on a roller cam. ANyone else to dispute this I am listening.

the heads came 61cc from the factory, we had them milled once, then a second time, but if you say 59cc then fine. Thats still 12:47.1 compression. Go to the website and do the math Randall.

Now 93 octane will BURN UP A 12:5.1 engine, can you understand this?

Detonation causes rod bearing failure among other things, your bearings were ruined from your refusal to run race gas, then after time they let go, when you sprayed it it detonated worse and finally let go. Not Jim Howe jr's fault, Not Terry Mckinney's fault not Mickey stephens fault. Randall Pryor's fault. Are you that blind?

Call any bearing manufacturer and ask them, get a name and I will be glad to follow up with them, if they feel otherwise. Better yet call a major engine shop tell them you have one of their engines that is 12:47 TO ONE AND YOU ARE USING PUMP GAS, 93 octane, unleaded fuel and ask them how long they will warranty it. Good god man surely someone can understand my frustration with you.

Now I will tell you the heads are less than 59cc since I have the paper work on them here from where I had them flowed and cc'd by a man who does the flow work for Terry. Do you not remember terry redoing the heads? I do I have the bill.

Track opens at 5 , I have no idea how far he sprays, I go a tenth or more faster on race night, but by mid night the tracks in good shape. I also run a tight convertor, and airplane gears.. WIth a 29.5 tire. What CI is the yates headed motor? what does the car weigh? Just curious you on motor and me on spray doesnt sound fair.. lol. But I will spray what it takes to make it close, thats more fun anyway. So If you run 6.00's I will try to run right with you. Hows that? My car does not perform well on motor. 1.59 -1.60 sixty foot. 6.5's @112 but I am playing with combo's still. What ever it takes to have fun we can do..

Finally i drive up to chicago to his supposed to be shop and it looks like somthing osama biladen would hide out in. it wasnt a ashop. well old franky isnt to be found. he knows he fucked me. so a week later a semi pulled up at the end of my drive. in the semi it contains a crate. well we unloaded it and i opened it and in it a note sais block is cracked bore in bad shape. so tell me how a brand new block got cracked and the bore worn out by sending it to chicago. im still figuring. but i think i got fucked by franky. but thats ok his day is coming.
