I've been thinking about getting this starter kit to do things for myself and possibly some for friends, etc., anyone have any experience with something like this? Thanks

And the 1500 watt curing lamp

hey froggie the gun is ok but the lamp is junk
gun quality is not that much of an issue due to nature of the process so you can get a kit from harbor freight for round 50-60 bucks
ok now for the scond step
this is tthe part that determines quality and durability of finished product
baking or curing is the most important part
i would highly reccomend just buying used conventional electric household oven
your results will be much much better
beware this does make oven not suitable for food prep anymore so dont go bakin parts in your mom's oven

hope that was a little helpful

We purchased a kit last year with the gun and all that jazz and it was a good investment, we did some neat stuff for little parts and some bigger ones too,but for a lamp just find an old oven and use that, they work perfectly fine.

should be able to find an oven
fairly cheap at a garage sale or pawn shop
check that one passed your work right before wal mart on the right
