E-BAY parts peddlers!!!!!!!

Just got a call from a good friend that purchased a converter from a person that brags to have the most high perf. sales ever on the net! Good for him. The point is my friend had a problem with his part and called the person who had it for sale on E-BAY,the seller started screaming at him and calling him stupid and told him to call the manufactuer that it was not his problem!!! BEWARE who you buy from there! I would much rather pay a few bucks more and support the local speed shop owner instead of some moron that just looks at you as a number and could care less or is not near as knowledgeable as the speed shop owner...

not in all cases i take pride in my e-bay store and is my source of income. so i take this as a jab towards my personal store .even though it was not me whom sold your friend the converter. I take care of my customers and provide a knowledgable staff. so do not lump us all in one catagory.








sorry to hear of your freinds misfortune but he needs to read all disclosures and terms of sale before purchasing.

maybe the manufacturer can help him out.

I tend to agree with Sleeper . You can't really judge all ebay sellers as " BAD " because of one persons misfortune. There are many TOP vendors on ebay , and with great reputations . I believe a person would be foolish not to check out what performance parts are for sale on ebay. Many good deals to be had on ebay ! I would probably be safe in saying that probably 75% of the members on this forum have at least once bid on parts on ebay.
I agree , you must be cautious with whom you are buying from. But there are such things available as Escrow to protect the buyer. And it's the buyers responsibility to contact the seller and ask about such things as warranty and how they ( seller) will handle a problem with the part(s) that they purchase if one should arise. So more or less , if the buyer gets ripped a new one it might be partly the buyers fault.

Some people might save a few bucks on a part(s) purchased on ebay, there are a few deals on from time to time on used and new part(s). A few of the mailorder parts companies sell on ebay also. I was just stating that in your original post it sounded a little like " you will be ripped off " if you purchase anything on ebay.
I didn't realize you were refering to one specific ebay seller in your post . Thanks for clearing up your first post for myself and the other readers with your follow up post. Misunderstood what point you were trying to convey to everyone on that first post.
