speaker question

i have a box with a max mounting depth of 5'' ... can i use a 5 1/2'' depth speaker and use a spacer and it work??? enclosed box btw

You should be able to. When measuring the depth of your speaker are you going from the top of the speaker or the bottom of the mounting ring. Also is there anything in front of the speaker? YOu want to make sure you have enough room for the speaker to move outward without hitting anything. If your refering to the airspace the speaker needs you will be fine, A sealed encloseure is much more forgiving than a ported enclosure.
