I finally got my headers the other day and I got the motor back in the car. I just have to hook up a few more things and re-check everything and it should be ready to crank up. I'll have it running by tomorrow if nothing goes wrong.:D

Let me know how things go if you get it fired tomorrow Tom. Maybe you can bolt a set of spec tires on that thing too and drive two cars. Then we can have three cars show up!!

My dad is getting antsy as hell. We went down to Barnett this morning to pick up a few things and he's hoping to have the Smurf fired up in a couple weeks. Maybe. *crosses fingers*

Should be picking up the engine for Ol Gray next weekend, bolting her together, and start the break in driving. Sounds like everybodys stuff is getting back together and ready for racing season.

Thanks, Rob. Scott at Coupe Performance plumbed the fogger for me and helped me out on the fittings I needed for the carb so I could get my fuel line hooked up without the fogger lines interfering. He is going to wire it up for me as well. He does very nice work.

I doubt it. It should run good but I wont be able to hang with Coupe or Chuck. My car is too heavy and I just dont have enough motor. I built it to run the 6.0 class. It ran 6.50's on motor and 5.90's on a 100 shot before I melted 2 pistons at Jackson. Ive switched to a big shot plate and a Pro race fogger set up. Ive got the same heads and intake on the Scamp now with a dual stage big shot plate and so far no problems. I had Scott mill about an inch off of both intakes. I will still run some of the 28x10.5 stuff though. Someone has to make them earn it!:D I think I will be somewhere in the 5.50-5.70 range leaving on a 150 on the plate and then switching to a 300 on the fogger. I will have it set up so when I hit the second stage the first stage cuts off.

Tom - take some more close up pictures of your fuel log and regulators, if you have time.

I just think that if your gonna use more than a 250 combined your better off with a fogger, not that a plate wont work. I have a 2 stage plate on the Scamp, but I keep it under 200 hp and when the second stage comes on the first one cuts off. I know plenty of people who have had good success with NX systems. Thats what the guys from Westend Automotive run. NosfedGTA also had good results with his NX plate. Superman (Tony Smith) runs them on his car also. I think my intake was too tall and the runner design did'nt match the plate. I had an inch milled off my intake to get the plate closer to the runners and had Scott (Coupe) blend the intake a little. I had to change plates because of hood clearence issues as well. I had to have a plate that was only 1/2" thick. So far, on the Scamp it seems to be working ok.

Dewane, do you plan on running a separate fuel system for the nitrous or one big pump for motor and nitrous? What I have on the Swinger is a -12 from the cell to the pump (500 gph Holley) and a -10 from the pump to the log, and then 3 regulators. One for motor and one for each stage of nitrous. Then I have a fitting with a .015 NOS jet on the other side of the nitrous regulators that feed into a -6 line that goes back to the cell to bleed of excess pressure so your guages dont creep. It turned out to be a project. You might be better off just running a separate fuel system, but Ill post some pics for you.

I have a Magnafuel Pro Star with a -12 feed from the cell and a -10 to the front. For now I have one regulator for just the carb. When I get ready for the plate, I want to add a fuel log and two more regulators, but I wanted to see how you did the log and regulators. Magnafuel's tech docs describe a system almost exactly like yours and that is what I am going off of when I am setting mine up. I had planned on getting two more of Magnafuels big regulators, but everyone in the know is telling me to not spend the extra green and stick with Holley reg's.

I think that would be more than enough. I agree on the regulators. I would'nt spend all that money for Magnafuels. NX even reccomends using the Holley regulators. Just make sure you use a separate regulator for each stage. and always set your fuel pressure flowing with a flow tool. I always start out with the maximum reccomended fuel pressure and tune from there.
