Hey, I'm with the Corrupted Stangs club. We came up to Team Ford and Had a dyno day with you a couple months ago and had a blast. Anyway, I heard you were the man when it came to stangs so I had a questions for you. I've got a 306 w/ stock ported heads, f-303 cam, and Edelbrock Performer 5.0 intake. The motor has approx 65,000 miles on it. The problem is that it is currently creating so much crankcase pressure that it is blowing oil out the breather. Not only that, but it is causing my oil dipstick tube to back out. I've replaced the pcv valve and the screen. I've also been told that I need breathers on both valve covers to relieve the pressure, but I never had this problem before when I had the regular oil filler cap with the tube going to the throttle body. The only thing I can think of is that my rings are shot for some reason. I need to resolve this problem somehow. Do I need to rebuild my shortblock? I appreciate any advice you can give me! Thanks.

not shankin but my twin turbo motor doesn't even generate enough crankcase pressure to need a breather on each valve cover. i just use one and even that doesn't smoke or anything. if you are getting so much pressure that it's blowing out the dipstick, having the breather problem, etc then you have a serious blowby issue or something of that sort. a supercharged car that is pressurizing the crank case only generates enough to move the dipstick if you don't run a valve cover breather (i know from experience lol) so if you are N/A, meaning the only real way to pressurize the crankcase like that would be with severe blowby and not from a compressor [i.e. turbo or supercharger], then it sounds like you've done something to cause major ring seal problems...

He is right. There is something going on there.Do a cyl leakdown test. Check plugs for oil deposits.

thanks a lot guys, i appreciate the response. I'll do a cylinder leakdown test and check the plugs. What do you think could have caused this ring seal problem? Just wondering. Thanks again
