Durhamtown Plantation- You need to read and act!!!

Durahmtown is being blasted by Fox 5 news. Go to www.durhamtown.com and read all about it on their forums. Also email all the Fox 5 contacts- listed in the forums- and express your concerns about thier "investigation" and about how safe Durhamtown really is. Basically it looks as though they are trying to shut them down.

How many people get injured or killed on i-75 or 285 on a daily basis? They dont sign a waver or release like we do and their not tryin to shut down those roads. I think its total crap, first the dragstrip in dallas gets closed(sorry, just still mad about it) and now one of the only places we have to ride safely and legally is being blasted be cause people have been hurt or killed! The last time i checked everyone who rides knows there is a possibility of getting hurt, its nothing new. Now it seems like the people who are doing the investigations are just know realizing that there is some danger, like this just happened. Myself and eveyone I know who rides at dp is going to do anything we can to help. We drive two hours to get down there to ride. Are there places closer to us?, sure, but none of these places are run as well or maintained as well as dp. Mike and his crew do a great job catering to everyone who comes out. We support them 100%and will continue to do so as well as ride there. They are great people and we always enjoy our rides, even if someones ride breaks:D

That just goes to show that some fuckers have nothing better to do than cause problems with everyones fun other than thier own. When I see shit like this it really makes me think the entire country is going down the fucking drain.

Dunno if youve heard but......out in california theyve made it illegal to ride on your own property basically. You can only ride 1 motorcycle/ATV at one time on your own property if you own at least 4 acres, and you can only ride it between 12pm-5pm. If you own up to ten acres you can ride up to 4 bikes/ATVs at once between the same alotted times and you have to stay at least 200ft from your property boundries. On top of that, you can only make 96dcb of noise. All the motocross racers such as McGrath and others are raising hell about it.......I cant blame them.

One of the things that pisses me off is that we just want somwhere to ride legally and we cant even do that! Preach to us that we need to ride somewhere safe and legal without pissing land owners off, and what do they do but blast people like dp that work very hard to provide all these things and more. People get hurt and killed in alot of sports, look at people dying from injuries sustained in a wreck at nascar races. Are they trying to stop nascar?, no. Do they sign a liabilty release? We are all aware the sport is dangerous and i will continue to ride. I will continue to exercise my rights that so many people have fought for to enjoy life, end of story.
And i will agree with you guys that it is sad that this country is goin down hill fast. I am a young guy who is not married and have no kids, and things like this make me stop and think real hard if i want to have a child and raise him or her in a world such as this. I want to give my children the opportunity to experience the same hobbies that me father and grandfather gave me the chance to learn. I fear that things such as hunting and fishing and riding and racing are going to be a thing of the past, and i fear i will not have the chance to do these things with my children:(

yup its bullshit.....i mean i dont want this to happen but if they wanted to shut someone down for lack of safety or supervision they should look at taylors ridge WAY before they should look at durhamtown. What a crock of shit.
