I am curious where is a good place here in the metro area to get fasteners. Like just metric bolts or nuts or threaded rod that's in specific sizes.

Home Depot is some useless shit, and most hardware stores are terrible. Where do I go to get some small amounts of threaded rod?

Alex,
I do not know how it is these days, but there was an ACE hardware out in Tucker off of Lawrenceville Highway past the Longhorn that used to have a great selection of fasteners and such. You may try there. There is also a place called Threads of the South or something like that but I have never been there, just heard of it several times. Good luck in your search.

I know it well....

Those people have EVERYTHING EVER MADE that belongs in a hardware store. If you can't find it there, you didn't need it anyhow. I was just wondering if there was an alternative to that.... but looking at Richard's post above, it looks like Fastenal is the trick for sure.

I'll have to get up with them....

I'll just bump this back to the top. Marty was right. This place is like a damn candy store. It was all I could do to just limit myself to $20 worth of hardware.

Thanks again, Lawyer Man!

Holy shit- how did you hear that?

It's ironic that some of the threaded rod that I needed from this place was to reattach my shifter to the top of my transmission (where I ripped it free a few days ago).

My penis files assault charges and my shifter breaks off the frickin' tranny all in one week? Coincidence? Hmmm.....:D
