Ok this has been killin me and ive been doin research on it but i cant find out if a neon underglow kit is legal in NJ. I just purchased one for my 2k1 tibby but I dont wana install it until i know its legal. It would of been a waste of cash.
Anyone know if neon glow is legal in Jersey?

first off, underglow kits are illegal in new jersey. any neon light can be considered as distractions to other drivers and you can be ticketed for it. second, if it was legal, why would you waste your money and time putting something on your car that makes it look stupid and serves no purpose? body kits, rims, wings are one thing, but neon lights are really dumb. spend the money on something that can make your car perform better.

well i happen to just be browsing other area's of the forums and saw this that cagut my attention. i go up to new jersey quite a bit and never saw any cars with underbody neon kits on them. well i guess that answers my question. i dont like cars with them on personally, except theirs always some people with them, but i just never saw that their.. why is that that they dont allow them? i like that law thought, they need that in tennessee, it might prevent so many ricers doing gay shit to their cars.

its not legal in jersey but i believe maybe its PA or NY you can have i think green, orange, yellow, or white (no red/blue)
anyway like squ1d said...get performance, not cheesy lights
if you have a v8 supercharged anything and THEN you want the lights, be my guest lol

Their illegal however i do have them in my car and have cruised with it on.
I've driven by several cops and never got pulled over with my neon lights on in Jersey. Yes its pointless, but if somebody loves their car and they would like to add it than why not?
Not everything serves a performance purpose, hence racing stripes, their both cosmetic enchancements to the vehicle.

Nothins illegal if the cops dont see it, and Im tired of seein people dish on rims, spoilers, body kits, and nice paint jobs... Just because someones willing to push the xtra buck to look better at the same time as increasing there performance, why bash em?

well i live in boston mass and there illegal here i have blue neons under my car got pulled over the other day for driving around with them on, but i think that cop was bored and just wanted to just pull me over. cause ive driven with them on lots of times lots of cops seen me and not pulled me over, but the cop who pulled me over that day gave me a warning he said next time i get caught again the ticket price is $350 thats wat the cop said.personally i think its stupid the laws they have on this and anything we do to our cars. i thought this was like a free country all they want is to have control over every one control freaks would say other things but i wouldnt be civil of me. like is so stupid how they say it confuses people with law enforcements in u have red or blue oh please!!! like a cop is gona be driving a hooked up toyota supra please give me a break, and if it distracts people is there fault for looking cause some people dont even pay attention to my lights and some du so doesnt that say something.anyways i think dropping cars is more dangerous than the lights cause people who have dropped cars always stop suddenly if theres a bump or hole on the road and u sometimes can barely stop in time before u hit them and thats still legall so this country needs to let us be free like it says we so are. every state should make a compromise were we can use light fridays and saturday from 9pm to 4am that way we all win is not like the road are packed that late well all i can say is dont let laws or people stop you from doing wat u want just dont get caught laters people.

Unfornately I got pulled over for my neon lights, which I feel is bull because I rode around a whole in front of regular police, and stae troopers with them on. I even drove from Baltimore to Washington D.C. to Virginia with them on and no one bothered me. But then one night this cop leaves from traffic going horizontally, instead of going straight makes a left at the light, then makes a u-turn in the traffic going vertically, waits behind me and when the light in my lane turns green, after I proceed through the light he decides to pull my me over. He must doesn't have a life.
