DirecTV DVR remote help?

Ok so how the hell do you get these things to learn your codes or set them for your TV?

It is not a universal remote, just the one that comes with the DVR that operates your TV sound and power and DVR functions only.

mine had to gothrough setup and it asked for your tv brand on screen and either setup itself or gave you the code cant rem which

Mine could learn the codes for my TV, and I couldn't get any of the universal remotes (that I tried) to work with the Tivo (DirecTV DVR). So I ended up with two remotes, we're hoping to get a new TV later this year I didn't worry about it for now.

You should have a channel on your network that will explain exactly how to do it. We have dish and all you do is hold like the satelite button down until it blinks and then push the red button. I can look it up if you'd like...or I'm sure Joey remembers how...but you should have a tv channel on the dish directory that will tell you how step by step.

we did the same thing and we have a dvr with cox digital hd.
