I live about an hour south of Raleigh area. We have a 1/4 mile dragstrip in town. Raced there since 93, but I have gotten back to my street car now. It is under construction(or destruction) hard to tell right now!

Do you ever race at Moorsville or Jefferson/Pageland. I used to run at those tracks. I even ran at Shuffletown before the neighbors killed it.
Heck, I've been trying to get my old rag ready to make a couple passes. Been years since I been at the track.
Used to pound Hudson up near Lenior, raced at Shuffletown alot, not much Mooresville, and pretty good bit at Shadyside (That's where I'll prob end up). Ran some NMRA in the early years, like the first year lol...
Nice car. Wish I had bought all of those $1500 69' Camaros in the late eighties.
I'd be soooooo rich.

Just between my sister, dad an uncle and cousin and I we own 11 first generation camaro's.
What do think your car will run. My 68 runs 7.40's (1/8th) 11.60's (1/4) with it's tounge hangin out. 4.56 gears, 28 inch tire and a glide. the shift light came on about 900ft. I might put a 350 turbo in it in the future. my dad's 69 camaro runs 7 flat on a 9 inch slick, but he has more fun driving it around town. He hangs out at the Oakboro Cruise In. He has three cars right now and all of them are orange a 55 sedan delivery and 55 four door, and the 55 150 will probably be orange when it is reassembled.
My car has the original motor still in it with 130k or so miles.
It's got a slew of bolt ons and a junky old Paxton 7 psi supercharger, should go 7.70's on the blower.
Also have a nitrous system, 50-200 horsepower plate system that I will spray 150 or so into with the blower. Have to run it rich, back out timing etc. to keep from blowing it up but it should go some 30's or 40's...
I have some serious drag racing freaks in my family, so it's good.
Post some more pics of your car.

Hey Elmo
Have you run your car down the track yet? I have been working on mine a little.
Mike
Waiting for it to cool off so it will run better. Been working too much, jobs get in the way...
Gonna get the nitrous plate going tommorrow hopefully, then put the supercharger back on it...
Won't be long.
Then I'm going to run it, then put an AOD in it and see if I can make it a little faster on the street.

Hey Elmo
I built an AOD for one of my friends a couple of years ago. You probably know this but with that kind of power you need a one piece input shaft. We did a valvebody mod also, it allowed you to shift the gears manually without missing 2nd gear. When the load was taken off the engine it would shift into overdrive.
Mike
Yea, my buddy that builds em' uses a lentech valve body and they now make a input shaft that is keyed for a c6 converter. The converter @ around $800 has always been a pain. This way you use the C6 converters which are much cheaper.
I'm not 100% sold on the automatic yet but have been comtemplating it for a couple years...
He built a couple for a couple buddies of mine, they run bracket 7.0's or so and the trans have been in there for 3-4 years with them beating on them.
