Kbubp's Blog:
I got up this morning. Woke up with wood, so I jacked off. It still wasn't even 10am, so I went back to sleep.
After I got out of bed at 3pm, I was horny, so I jacked off before eating breakfast. Eating always makes me sleepy, so I took a nap.
About 7pm I started getting hungry, and since my mom wasn't there and wouldn't being me any food in bed anyway, I got up and got a bowl of cereal for lunch. America's Top Model was on, so I had to jack off again....twice.
I think I'm gonna settle in for a cold beer or two and watch tv for a while before I go to bed. It's starting to get late already.

really nice craftsmanship on that shelf you built, thats a pretty serious project for someone of your experience and education, did your dad let you use his shop?

Here's a new construction set I did a few years ago. Photo quality is BLAH, but the stairs turned out really nice. Anything that's classified as "stair parts," I assembled and/or made, depending on the piece. Bending the section of rail at the top was the toughest part. This staircase took about 2 1/2 days, as there is LOTS of work in a setup like this.

This project was a fun one! This lady had carpeted stairs and white balusters.
I removed the old carpet and stair treads/risers, then made a new outer skirtboards, risers and fixed her up with new oak treads. We replaced the old colonial style rail with this one, along with new posts and iron powdercoated balusters. It turned out really pretty. I got to see it after she stained it all and it was incredible, but I got no photos that day. This project took me about 2 days.

Anyhow, that's what I do. I also do custom bookcases/built-in entertainment centers, cabinet installation and of course the standard interior trim installation (mouldings, doors, etc.).

Thanks for the compliments, that's very kind of you.
Yes, I'm a subcontractor and mainly do new construction. Occasionally, someone will call me because "Bubba down at the Door Knob Store" gave them my number to do some custom stuff in their home. I'm normally not a fan of any time of renovation or remodeling.
Honestly, as much as I enjoy what I do, not only because of the work itself, but because of the freedom associated with that type of work environment, I'd still happily give it up today to be a full-time performance tuner. (Insert ricer-esque jab here)

Bubp, nice job, I couldn't have done it.. Either I just haven't done it enough or I just don't have the skill it takes to build things.
The stairs look awesome as well.

Speaking of.. How is that new ECU set-up coming along? I'm still pretty interested in using that when I start to do some work.

Any chance you did some toy shelves for a Dane Baker?

^^^ It's possible. I've built many shelves for many people, most of whom I can't remember. Most of the time, I build the units in the house before the homeowner moves in, during the construction phase.

The ECU setup is fantastic! I had a small issue with the trigger switch on the clutch pedal causing some intermittent program spasms. Sometimes when I'd depress the clutch pedal, the tach would bounce violently, power would be lost and the car would hiccup pretty badly. This would range in duration, anywhere from split second to "Crap, I need to pull over out of traffic."
After checking some stuff here and there, I found that the clutch pedal switch had too much bounce. If you were to look at the switch operation on an oscilliscope, you'd see a huge bounce in the wave as the switch is "clicked." This was causing the ECU to get all confused and it couldn't decide which map to use.
Once I fixed that problem, everything has worked flawlessly. The switching between maps is seamless. I played with the launch control/flatshift a little bit the other day. Feathering the clutch a little, that WOT / 4k rpm launch was pretty fun. I'm sure it'll be nice with slicks and such.
I still need to pull about 5* out of that secondary map, but I'll do that stuff on the new engine, when I'm on the dyno.
Also, the flatshift is fun...pretty low turbo lag with it.

Hey KATWO40sx --- is your wife a little older than you, and does she work for a bank?

I think my mom might work with your wife, if it's your car she described.

Yes a *little* older and she works at a mortgage company, not necessarily a bank. Do you drive a Mustang and live out off 11E?

Tell her I'm VERY sorry I haven't been able to get over there to look at the walls in your house. I'll be free early next week, if daytime is good. Just lemme know.

Sounds fun.. Like I said, I think I am as excited about you putting that new motor in there as you are.. Haha.. I can't wait to see it really work.. I would really like to get with you sometime and see how that ECU really works, like how to program it and such. Seems like something I would like to use on mine.
I never would've thought about the switch sending a "bouncing" signal. Kinda seems like it would be all or nothin.. Learn something new everyday..
