Should i let the DIY channel use my car?

I was approached a couple of weeks ago by a guy that works on that "tricked out" show on diy. They called me today and left a message saying that they wanted to put my car on the show. I dont really know anything about the show and if these people know what they are doing. They would be installing a torque converter and a lsd. It wouldnt be a problem for me to install those things myself, but its hard to turn down letting them do it when they pay for it. Should i do it?

My sisters boyfriend had his SRT-4 on Tricked Out for 2 different episodes, one was engine bay modifications (making everything look nice) and the other was for the TurboXS D-Tec, so he got a lot of work done for free and it turned out pretty good. Id say go for it. They told me they wanted to use my car a while back, but he wants me to email him pictures and tell him everything I have done to my car, especially the DIY stuff, which is all I do cause Im broke and I change it all the time, so its kind of hard to give him an updated list...

They did my sisters boyfriends SRT-4 with the D-tec, but thats only so they could dyno it afterward for results, they dont want to do any engine performance without being able to show results, and since there is now AWD dyno around here, any AWD vehicle is stuck with non power mods from Tricked Out, doesnt mean you couldnt get some nice suspension stuff or wheels or even a BOOMIN SYSTEM DAWG!!!!!

The alltrac has a nice feature. The gearbox has a switch on it to set it to fwd only for dyno use. So they could still get a reading if they really needed to.
Then again, if I can figure out why the fuel pump is not kicking on... it would be near done...

Just watch your ass is all I have to say. I had a chance to be on that show with one of my cars, and I declined just simply because of the fact that they would not garauntee any of the work they do. What worried me the most is the fact that they would not even garauntee that they wouldn't scratch or dent the exterior of my car during the proccess. If it happens you are screwed is basically what they told me. I don't know if their policies have changed, and I am not saying don't do it, but I am saying it would suck to have a transmission slammed into the side of a nice sc300 and you not be able to do anything about it. Just make sure you ask plenty of questions, and cover all of the bases.

You should really know what you are talking about before you post something like this. What he actually did was commit an act of libel, not slander. Slander involves the making of defamatory statements by a transitory (non-fixed) representation, usually an oral (spoken) representation. Libel involves the making of defamatory statements in a printed or fixed medium.

I don't know if you are a judge or not, but who are you to say that it was illegal? If you would read his post you would see that he said nothing about RI. What he did was state a fair comment on a matter of public interest anyways. Expressing the opinion that you believe the allegations are true is not likely to support a cause of action for defamation.

I would say it is a safe assumption that nothing posted by a bunch of retards on an internet forum would ever hold up in a court of law as slander OR libel, whichever it is (I'm not a lawyer either but I apparently have a firmer grasp on the concept than you do). I know his car was messed up after the dyno run, but Josh's car was always messed up. I have his number, he is dating my sister and has been for a while, we talk quite often. He told me that he had his car for probably about 25% of the time he actually owned it. It was a highly modified car that wasnt always right, when something went wrong he just replaced it with a more powerful part and didnt always get it tuned. Josh is a good guy who had a lot of car problems, I would in no way direct that towards Tricked Out or Racing Innovations. I know those guys too and they know what they are doing. The guy who tuned the car worked for TurboXS and he knew what he was doing, Josh's fuel injectors were maxed out. They told him to get a new fuel pump and injectors and they would re-tune it, but sadly the car didnt make it that long. It was bad luck, nothing but...

Somwhere around Dec. a guy contacted me after seeing my car at Racing Inovations. He asked me to send him pictures of my car, so I did, but havent been contacted since. He said it could be a year down the road if they call back, so im still on the on the edge of my seat with anticipation.
