You know that feeling you get when you have been working on a car project for a long while, and you finally get to start it? Well, I have that feeling right now. I was starting to loose hope on the car, but its getting pretty damn close to being done.

That is all.

Start it, as in...Key in the ignition, and car running, or you just about to crank it up for the first time?

Already cranked it and it runs. Sounds like a helicopter with an open downpipe. I just have to sort out some vaccum lines and get the fmic on and its done.

I felt that way back when I had a 72 Chevelle. God I loved that car. I couldn't drive it for a long time because I blew the motor up. After the motor swap I drove it when ever I could. Ended up selling it in college when me and my girlfriend broke up to pay the rent.

CMS- When you get it up and running, I'd really enjoy an upclose look and/or demo of the car. I've never seen an Alltrac (at least, not knowingly) and it sounds like a really fun car.

Will do. Hell, I will even bring this thing to car car for a few just to show it off. The paint is in rough shape, but its still a good looking car. Maybe when I get ahead on some stuff next year, I can get a new paint job. My goal this next week is to get everything hooked up right and running right, then put the fmic on and it should be ready to rock. Then I am not touching cars for a good couple of months. This thing has been holding some of my projects up and my extra work, so I need to get caught back up on life.
There is a small alltrac meet at the dragon around the end of Oct. so I will post some vids.

Heres what it sounds like at idle with an open downpipe.
Short, but sure to piss of my neighbors. :D

Should have a video of it moving end of next week.

I go on leave Nov 17th through Dec 3rd. I would like to make a gap trip, and I would like for you to bring your AWD, so I can compare our driving. This is all new stuff, and the lines I take in this car are MUCH different then the lines in my honda. When I can acclerate is much different too. I can't believe the grip.

Not sure if a public road is a good place to compare two cars handling abilities, but I am sure if you drive the two cars you will find they react in a simular manner.

Both use a center viscous coulpling lsd which gives you handling charactersitcs that change while in a turn. Think of it as the longer your in a turn the more traction you gain. I was taught buy some old awd race car drivers, with cars like the alltrac the best method of driving is slow in, fast out. I will explain that better next time I see you.
It may take me time to get used to the car, I have not driven it in two years, and I have really been used to rwd for a while now. I should have the new wheels on it by the time you get here, and a lot more rubber than before.
Going from 205/40/17 to 255/40/17. When I buy a set of race rubber next year I will be running 275/40/17 all around.
