I think I will have to waste a bunch of wanta bes who think there new liter bikes can run with my busa. I ran a buddy with a Gixxer 1K about a month ago from about 60Mph, made him feel like he was riddin a 600. Should be lots of squids who think they bought the fastest bike on the street. I hope because this year was kind of boring no one to race on the E-way ( no cars, no bikes)

Now when you say wannabes with liter bikes getting wasted by busas...Your talking about turbos and such right...:stumped: Now thats a different discussion, like i said i like busas and if it didnt just stick me in one class at the dragstrip i would diffenitly own one. And like what me and my bro ran into with the viper race.."Which i was the one riding the busa,if youve seen the video" is that they said he had never had to spray a a busa...and if you seen the video , i walked off...So that says to me rider makes an aweful huge difference..cause he spayed the shit outa me and you couldnt tell it... :burnout: My point is i think thats where people get the ideas of some bikes being slow...They never look at the experience behind the rider..

Got to stand with JR on this one. I own a Busa and did have two R-1's. Now I have an 04 R1 ordered so I can run 2 classes. The Busa's are indeed a truly gifted machine, but with the right rider a litre bike can more than surprise an unsuspecting Busa. JR and I can attest to that. Been done more than a few times eh JR? No I'm not downing the Busa in the least, I love'em. Mine I hope will be plenty to contend with come spring time. We are shooting for some records at local tracks. I'm just trying to defend the 1000cc bikes.or rather a few of the 1000cc bikes. Some we have seen aren't even enough of a challenge to line up next to. Those we let our Pals on 636's and Gixxer 750's take care of. You with me JR or am I going out here alone on this one?

Yes I am talking about people who dont know what they are doing just getting a new 1K because "all the mags say they are the fast bikes out, you gatta have one" they think a fast bike will make them fast just because the mags got a better quarter time o them then a busa. besides mine may look stock but the turbo lays the sack down on roll ons. For a highway run I dont care if you are experinced or not it is just a pure HP run unless you miss a gear or such. And at 300+ at the rear wheel on a quite bike ( turbos make great mufflers) I will kill a bunch of unsuspecting "squids" on their new liter bikes that they think are all mighty. As far as racing at the track I might go 1 or 2 times a year so you guys would probly beat me. The bike trends to want to wheelie to much even with the 4" swingarm extention and I have to get out of the throttle in the first 2 gears. But I do hit 165+ through the traps.

It is a little, I ride it on the street every where and in mich it is low enough without falling into one of our monster pot hole. The road up here just plain suck. it has a Mc Xpess turbo kit on it installed by the motorhead "dennis" a 4" extended swing arm and a 5deg rack on the front end so it dose sit lowwer but not slammed like a drag only bike. I have over 27K miles on it. It make 300Rwhp even on a 95deg day, runs pump 93 Octane gas so I can ride it everywere. I have though about having dennis put valve springs, con rods and a KKK tubro on it this winter. should be good for 380Hp then. But I think I am going to use the money to help pay off something instead. Beside it will all ready spin the rear tire just gassing it at around 60mph so what would i do with anouther 80+ HP? try for 170Mph int he quarter :D

Heard that..Yea i got my bike dropped 3 inches in the back and 2 up front...It barely makes it over speed bumps, sucks..But it helps at the strip

Wicked bike man..............what do you think of the 5 degree front? Am considering that for the shootout bike.

It lowwered the front a little and got the tire farther away from my intercooler (this was the main reason I raked it). Other than that I havnt noticed that much differnce. Oh and it is a little harder moving it around in the garage, the front and turns harder when not moving.

That is one Sweet bike! What they are saying about 2 classes is that we run a small local thing called street bike shootout. This is a rider's chance to shine. We have classes like 600 cc,750 cc,1000 cc,and 1300 cc and below. If you have a 1000,then you can run the 1000 class and the 1300 class. The rules are hard, but they are...
No extended swing arm's
No Turbo's or Nos.
Stock wheelbase
No air shifters
Etc...

These races are held at 1/8th mile tracks and make it difficult to make alot of power and get down the 1/8th mile. For instance,Dash's clutch blew out at the last race and i resorted back to my Kaw and he rode my stock gsxr and still won i think 400 bucks that day on a stock bike.Like i said,it is a riders sport. My lil bro Jr. has a fast bike as it just has very minor things and been a 6.18@119 mph.I would love to do what you guy's do also (top speed) but my pocket book and family won't allow it.

If you are ever down here check us out..I would love to see that monster also!:D

Would like to see that bike make it to some of our shootouts too. The 5 degree is suppose to help wheelies and provide a bit more stability....or so I've heard. Don't know if it would be significant enough for 1/8th mile to justify cost...........comments?

The cost is nothing I think it was somewere between $300-500. It helps with wheelies at least on the street. I havn't had it to the strip since it was done. You need a good race tire or it will start to spin around 6-7000 RPM. I bought a rim and tire but havn't tried them yet hopfully this comming spring I will get to the track. Way too cold here now. Also lowwers the center of gravity and shifts some of the weight back to the rear that the swing arm shifted to the front.
