I haven't seen you racing in Chattanooga lately.
I'm guessing you got your car fixed.

i don't want to race anything with a roll cage, i want them to be in equal danger of dying as i am. Makes going fast a little more relative.

Heres my opinion on cages. At NHRA tracks, you run 12.0 at 130mph, you dont need a cage. Run 11.99 at 110, you need a cage. Go figure. Also, have you guys ever ridden in a V8 drag car with fat slicks in the rear and skinnies in the front, and has a suspension that makes the front end unweight? Its scary stuff, no wonder they came up with the cage ruling where its at. On the other hand you can have street cars out there running 10s and 11s with completely different suspension on street tires that could immediatley go autocross right after making a pass. Sure, if you ever get on the roof or whatever it would be nice to have a cage, but theres hella lot more of a chance for a friggin Monza with a V8 swap by Billy Bob to get on its top than for the old Galant to get on its top. Thank goodness for Rockingham, I dont think the wife would enjoy maneuvering around a cage when putting the boy in his seat!
Probably the only way I would put a cage in a car I drove on the street is if it made 600+whp. I'm thinking I wont ever need one!

A CAGE IS JUST A SAFETY DEVISE , FUCK ID RATHER CRAWL OVER A CAGE AND NOT EVER NEED IT RATHER THAN HAVE A BAD WRECK AND WISH I HAD IT. YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE SO WHY NOT TRY TO MAKE IT LAST.:)
WHAT KIND OF #'S ARE YOU ALL RUNNING. 1/4 OR 1/8????

So lets say a guy runs IHRA tracks and the car runs 11.60 at 120. The same car at NHRA tracks requires cage. So is he being safe at one track and not at another??? If it TRULY was about safety, ANYONE racing their car at a 1/4 mile track should have to have a cage in their car, even if its a 17 sec car, after all its racing, and racing has risks. I chose not to put a cage in my car because its the only car I have right now, its a DAILY DRIVER, and it has a baby seat in the back. I dont race it much, so its a chance I take. We all take chances when we are drag racing. If not having a cage isnt gonna getcha, something else will(fire, etc). I do take precautions, and inspect the car before I take it to the track. Running 125mph thru the traps is no joke. I do wear a fire jacket and helmet and keep a fire extinguisher in the car.
Lay off the caps. ;)

Well I have no good times to tell (was still working out the bugs last year). I will find out this year though. My car is pretty slow!:D I have to do alittle more work. I should have it ready for Fun Ford (TN). But you have to remember that this is my daily driver.:D I have a hard time beating Geo Metros..lol

p.s. i sent you another pm He would probably have to bring his tires to make it fair if we were going from a dead dig on the street. It would make a killer video, though!
If Im not in town he could always run my brothers car, its pretty quick too, heres a vid of us doing a real quick roll, and some pics, too: http://www.lynchsurvey.com/pics/galant_eclipse/

I did manage a 1.68 on em, but they are far from ideal. I remember Chambers had some tires that came on his red Talon that were called "Dean Quasars"

Dont "right click save as", just click on the link. Its just a link to a page that has a short vid and some pics of my car and his car.
