Are you using the jack to compress the suspension? Or are you having trouble lining up the strut?

I unhooked everything. I took the old spring out.
I am trying to put the new spring in with the arm dropped all the way. The new srping is basically the same length of the old spring.
I'm just trying to get the MF'er in there.

I think tony was talking about not taking everything off. not real sure never worked on a mustang before... I might have a spring compressor in my garage , i will go check.

Just line the pig tail up with the A-arm cup......start re-jackin' the arm back up. Kick the damn thing in there/use a hammer to persuade it, you're not gonna hurt anything.

So you are saying to put the bottom in, leaver the top halfway out, jack it up and beat the hell out of it? Sounds like a plan to me. Ill wait and see if thats what you meant

The spring should be flush with the top(K-member part), and just the inner portion of the bottom of the spring be on the A-arm. Once you start jackin' it back up, the pig tail should be in the correcto position if you eye-balled it correclty.

You can "borrow" spring compressors from Autozone. They're about $19 to just buy them.

just put stock springs in my gt a few weeks ago. I ran into the same problem...... If bolton's idea didn't work try this. I set the top in (k member section) as bolton said before and eyeballed getting it lined up as close as i could in the lower control arm or whatever. Then i took a pry-bar under the coil closest to you.......and into the big hole in the middle of the control arm. With some pressure and good leverage pry up on the coil off of the control arm and while pulling the arm down it semi-compresses the spring and forces it in place. I had to do this a couple times to line it up right but it worked. And thats the best way I could get it in. If you don't end up getting I will be glad to come by this w/e to help....spring compressors will not work there is not enough room. Just pm me if you need some assistance, If you are available before 1 in the afternoon I can help before this w/e jsut pm me if needed
