Anyone sold a car to Carmax?

Just wondering. Girlfriend is wanting to sell her car to them if the price is right tomorrow morning. What kind of process do they do to inspect the car and aprox how long? While where there gonna take my Mustang up there to see what I can get out of it also.

I sold my Expedition to them a couple years ago. It was pretty quick and easy. I'd say about 30-45 minutes depending on how many people are there. They gave me a fair price for it, a little more than wholesale.

I think its about the easiest way to unload a car...

Its the best way if your car is beat up a bit. You'll do better on a car that's junk than one that's really nice since they stay just over the book wholesale pricing. If you have a really nice car that would be above average on the open market I'd sell it that way, if its beat up more than the others -- sell it to Carmax.

They will also pay a slight premium for cars that meet their current inventory requirements.

Also, modified cars are better off elsewhere...
