Anybody have any experience with these bikes? Looking to find something that handles and rides well with as much comfort as possible. I'm not looking for the fastest 600 on the street, but I want something thats fun to ride and not too expensive. Opinions?

The ZZR1200 are pretty nice... The ZZR 600 is a decent bike especially for a first bike... The zzr600 is the equivalant to a Katana, except the zzr600 IMO is a much better choice.

THe ZZR-600 is a 98-02 zx6r with a new badge thats all. It had stepped down from the #1 kawi 600cc spot to make room for the '03 zx6rr and zx636r. Very similiar to waht yami did with the New r6 and r6s(I think thats what they call it)....the s is in essence the same r6 as previous models. ZZr600 is a bit slower then the current super bikes but by all means it will kill you just as quick for a new rider. IF you do decide to go with it then take your time, get the skills up and have fun.

Thats what I had read online about it being the old zx6r. This is going to be my first street bike. I've ridden several around town, but I've never had a great deal of seat time on the street. I just want to find a comfortable bike (I'm 6'3 240) that I can ride around and just have a good time. I don't have a death wish.

My '99 zx9r I owned had a non binding seating position and was great for the long hauls, didnt feel cramped at all. IF the zzr600(old zx6r) is similair then you should be fine. Note on most 600's they have a bit less leg room for the taller folks so do some research and use the '98-'99 zx9r to compare the seat, pegs height and the reach to the bars...

Looks the the ZZR's seat is about .4" taller than the ZX9R. Couldn't find anything about the peg height. I've been on the 06 GXSR600 and the 636 and they seemed to fit me alright. Does anyone know if White's has a ZZR in stock I could go look at before I drive out there?

Rose Kawasaki in Rossville Has one on the showroom floor you could sit on and get a feel for it.
THe 636 is ok but on long trips you might want to rethink those....on the way back from the Gap my friends 636 killed me. I just felt way to cramp for a extended ride like that and it was last October and quite cool so I was trying to tuck to keep the cold air off me and that is a no no on that bike....I am about 5'10 so you might have problems there....IMO
