So what is the best cat back combo for the new stangs? I am also looking for the best CAI and are long/short headers worth the power gain on a Auto? Chip or computer tune? Superchargers (more than likely Vortech) or turbo (probably Hellion)?

We have a good bit of parts for the wife's car but checking before putting them on. Don't care to go backwards for power gains.

I like the Mac catback the best. I put one on my car and my brother's. I also have the C&L Street cold air kit with a SCT tuner with Brenspeed tunes. I have an extra C&L kit for sale if you are interested. I'd make you a good deal in it. All you would have to do is get a tuner with tunes for your mods.

Jlt cold air kit is the best by a good margin , my friend Ronnie over at Atlanta Chassis Dyno tested several kits just to find out this info ,I put one on mine and you can actually feel the difference , with that particular kit you must do an ecm calibration so I bought an sct xcal2 and its awesome , increase shift firmness and it will bark 3rd gear now lol , as far as the axle back I put the stainless Mac on mine and it looks great and sounds awesome. Also lt headers are not worth the head ache of installation ....my same buddy dyno tested one after the lt's and it made 4 rw hp and 6 lbft tq....I also put a 4.10 gear in it too and its a blast to drive , I only wish I had went ahead and bought 4.30,s it still cruises fine 75mph at 2700 rpm

What about the tuner kits? I was looking at the SCT Live-wire but it looks like the only difference is that it has preloaded tunes instead of using a dyno. I am planning on putting the S/C on very soon so I don't think the tunes are going to help me out too much.

What gear did you go with and how much difference does it make? 4.10 or 4.30 I am guessing?

I havent took it back to the track yet to see the difference in et

Yeah I was asking you but I didn't remember reading the above post that mentioned what gears you had. CRS is getting to me quick.

What kind of numbers are you putting down now or have you had it on the dyno? Hers put down 250 rwhp and 260 something rwtq bone stock with 440 on the odometer.

Hers put down 250 rwhp and 260 something rwtq bone stock with 440 on the odometer.with the 87 octane (fuel econo tune) it made 274hp / 276tq if I remember correctly (pornographic memory...cant remember a fucking thing)....I had cheap gas in it , with the 93 octane tune it should pick up a little more , you can actually feel the difference in the tune with the sct between the 87 and 93 octane tunes  According to brennspeeds website they have dyno sheets from several 07 with their sct tunes that picked up over 50 rw hp from the tunes they install on the sct. I bought mine from Atlanta Chassis dyno and had them load 3 tuned in it 87 , 89 ,and 93 octane , all of which work with the JLT cold air / mass air kit and I can do fine tuning on top of their tunes such as rev limiter , shift firmness , shift points (rpm or mph) fan on temp , top speed limiter axle and tire size ratio calibration fuel and timing etc , but their tunes are not as aggressive as Brennspeed's tunes

Not too shabby with the 4.10 gears dropping the numbers down. I am shooting for 450 rwhp on hers by the end of May if Vortech still takes food stamps.

I have heard that the blocks shouldn't be pushed past the 500 rwhp mark but never researched to find out how true that was.

I dyno'd the car before we installed the gear....ultimately I want a Saleen blower or a whipple or maybe a KB , I just cant let go of $5500 right now

Bugman
04-29-2007, 11:09 PM
Yeah I don't think were gonna do no $5,500 either. Damn that's another fox in the driveway.

So do you see 300 rwhp possible with only bolt ons?

Chris, What kind of times did you run before anything was done to your car and after?

I talked to Brenspeed and they told me they had got most hp out of C&L kit and JLT was right behind it.

Bugman if you are planning going blower soon, I wouldn't buy any cold air kit or get any tunes yet. You will have to get retuned with the blower and the cold air kit won't work with the blower.

It went a 9.000 @ 80 or 82 I dont remember exactly on the mph with a crappy 2.3 60ft I forgot and left trac cont on and it spun about 10 ft and the tc kicked on and it fell flat on its face and putted to about the 60 ft mark then took off again. That was completely bone stock. Im probably going back to the track next weekend and see what the difference is with exhaust gear cold air and sct....plus I will probably get a bbk throttle body one day this week
Chris
Bugman my friend at ACD has actually made 302 rwhp with just bolt-ons and a 5 spd

Well...to be honest...I don't know..lol
I have the sheet and I was listening while it was being explained to me how the numbers went....but all I heard was blah blah blah....at least 200 more horsepower with a super charger...lol

I'll let Joey post the numbers tomorrow.
It wasn't what I was expecting it to make...but from what I understand it wasn't too terribly bad. I was told with the charger it would make a little over 500. I'm super proud though. Joey built it from scratch by himself....with a little help from The Ogre with the wiring. It was the last car to be built in my dads shop...so I'm slightly sentimental about that.

The blower may not come for a few months and when it does I will just swap the CAI over to my car which will never get a blower.

Thanks for the info but I hate C&L with a passion. However I am still looking for a truck. :)

Well I was hoping for 300rwhp but the best we could do is 291rwhp and 320rwt. It's not bad for a cobra motor with a small cam but it's never enough I need to find a supercharger.
