View Full Version : FS: 2 big block chevy engines

The first one is just a block. A 427 4 bolt main tall deck block that's been bored .040 over. Also have the number of the guy that has the pistons and rods if you need them. Take $150 for it.


The other is a 396 block that has HI-PERF stamped on the block. Has complete roataing assembly minus camshaft lifters and rods. Has roller rockers but some are missing. Was told that it has 454 heads. Don't know much else about it. Take $650 for it.


We bought both of these at Douglass engine builders going out of business auction. All the information I have is from a mechanic that worked there.

the "HI-PERF" doesnt mean shit . every big block chevy has that stamped on it. be it a 366 BBC truck motor or the bad ass LS6 454. whats the numbers on the heads and block

get us some casting numbers and pics so we can decide please.

There is also a date stamping number where the trans bolts up behind the intake. Curious to see the dates!

Sorry it took me so long. Completely forgot. The numbers on the block are as follows: 3969854. Mortec.com translates this as a 402 from 1970-1972 either 2-bolt or 4-bolt main. I believe this is a 2-bolt.
