D'oh I am clearly a dumbass

I pulled the first three plugs on the driver's side last night and I think its time for some new ones. At least they were AC Delco, but they were a little aged. They had some carbon build up on them, but at least I didn't see any signs of detonation. While I am swapping out the plugs, I am going to replace the wires and cap. I am really curious if a good tune-up will make a difference at the track. Based on the first couple of plugs, I would say that it will help.

why that small?

you have a self inductive ignition, it will help the coil recharge faster beetween sparks. The wider the gap, the more energy it takes to make the spark jump the gap. i keep mine at .025". not even the aftermarket coil/module will help as much as this will.
