I've posted this on every forum know to man, as well as emailed it to 2 shop owners. And I still havent found a simple/proven way of doing this.

I'm putting a clutch in a 1999 GT. It's got a T-45 btw.

I've never done anything like this before, but I've actually done ok. I cant get the top driver's side bellhousing bolt out! I've tried everything. I can get a really nice bite on it with a swivel and a couple extensions. First I had just that bolt in, with the back of the tranny hanging, and it wouldnt budge. So I called Eric(Cobraboy) and we figured it may be in a bind, so I bolted the crossmember back up, as well as a couple other B/H bolts. Still nothing. I've tried an air rachet, torque wrench(air), and electric torque wrench. IS the swivel and extension just taking away the usable torque from the gun? Or is it really that much of a bish to get off?

And ideas guys? I'd really appreciate it, cuz I REALLY dont want to have to call a roll back to come pick it up from my shop. lol

Tonight, I'm gonna loosen a couple motor mounts, and see if I can't get in there with the impact without the swivel and a couple less extensions.

you need a good Snap On 1/2" drive gun

It's not that "new" and it's not Snap On, but it is just a regular old 1/2" Impact. Are there "heavy duty" impacts? Maybe I'll try one with more torque.

quick check question..... have you taken the "blocking plate" off the front of the tranny yet?

I'm no pro at this, so I may be misunderstanding your terminology, but if it's right in between the oil pan and the bottom of the B/H, then yes, I have.

yeah, it should have been two 12 mm bolts (on a 3650 that is) at the bottom of the trannys bellhousing. when i dropped my tranny i had issues with that when i couldn't get it to budge & it ended up being that
