You're probably gonna need a title for that one...

Need a title for anything newer than 86. I just went a few rounds with the tag office last week over the same thing.

You can apply for a lost/replacement title at the DMV. Print out a MV-1 form and fill it out.

anything 20 years old or newer has to have a title to be registered, anything 25 years old or newer has to have emissions.

they have changed that anything 86 or newer for now on has to have a title, it doesn't go by 20 years now

The only person who can get a replacement title for it is the registered owner. You can't go to the tag office and apply for a title for a car that isn't registered to you. If you can't locate the registered owner you can get a bonded title IF there's no active liens on the car. Take the VIN # to your local tag office and see if you can talk them into giving you the owners info, most of the time they will but if they wont then get a police officer to run the VIN for you.

they have changed that anything 86 or newer It's actually 1985 and newer.

It's actually 1985 and newer.
That is incorrect. 86 and newer does require a title/bond, etc. but 85 and older does not. I just did this last week with 2 1985's and a 1984 and only had bill of sales and they all 3 have tags now. :) Now if the date on the door is newer than 10/05 then that would be true and would be considered an 86 anyway and be required to have a title.
