PINKS THE TRIP FROM HELL!!

I wanted to take a few minutes to recap the week and days before pinks, I think most of you will find this HILLARIOUS.. I can honestly say, its a trip that will never be forgotten...

Monday 8.00 am Motor back in my car and running. Need to pack up everything and be ready to go. Finished Dads long block sunday night, motor needs to go in his car... His car has not been togther in 6-7 years.. But I have to work as I have several appointments scheduled for monday, figure I could test tonight after the fact... Well Dad gets a little behind on his car, trans linkage doesnt work, fuel pump wont fit, needs misc fittings to get finished up...Get home @7 monday night from work, Dads not done so we put testing off untill wed night... Well tuesday morning I leave to nashville for a 2 day conference, NO way of putting it off, so DAD and DOUG and TROY finish his car I arrive home @10 pm wed night and we get dads car started figure we will test THURSDAY... I bought a motor home we night and we go home to pack it up so we can test thursday, well thursday morining its raining.... NO TESTING. So we continue to pack and it quits raining but we decided hell we can test friday at pinks so we load up and leave crossville by 10.00 pm,,,

I get 6 miles from home and the master cylinder goes out on the motor home, everyone is closed in town and cant get a master cylinder untill friday morning so we camp in town... Get up at 6 drive to auto zone replace the master cylinder and away we go we think... We get ready to leave and I have a fuel leak in the motor home 2 hrs later we have it fixed in the parking lot and we head out.. Get to lenoir city and have a HUGE BLOW OUT, takes out the inner wheel well, the floor and part of the cabinets inside the motor home. We clean up the mess and fix the hole, and put the spare on it, 2 hrs later we are on the rd again, well exit 407 only 90 miles from Bristol I blow another tire, this time I take the trailer off and have Mom and my wife keep watch on it from Dads motor home, dad and I drive it on a flat and get TWO new tires and away we go, we get to the track and unload seconds later they close TECH and we cant run till saturday so we drink some beer and go to bed, I get up make my run and blow a spark plug apart in the water box, idle down the track... Dad makes a decent run, air shifter and tach quit working and he shifts it about 9k the car goes 10.01 @136 we get both cars fixed and make the second run, we have no idea how fast they are since we get no Time slip or anything. So we watch the race and eat alot...(THANKS TO EDWIN CRAVENS FOR SOME GREAT COOKING....)
Sunday wake up and leave the track, get 60 miles down the rd and the motor home quits no GAS...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG:smash:
Fill up get back on the rd, get to knoxville and it quits again in a construction zone, spend 5 hrs trying to fix it on the side of the rd and NO LUCK... I call a friend who comes and gets my car and my stuff and hitch a ride. Yesterday Proffitt and I go get the motor home with semi truck wrecker, and now its being fixed......

Thats about the craziest trip I can say we have ever had. I was ready to BURN THAT SOB but we all made it home. And we will be getting the motor home ready for the :smash: next trip.

I'm surprised a homeless guy didnt move in lol, it looked like a nice motorhome thats why I noticed it. I remember when the batteries exploded in my old motorhome first time I used it to tow to the track. Blew the cover off the floor and the acid destroyed the whole interior because of a bad 10.00 chrysler voltage regulator.
